PERFECT base for an insanely delicious lemon meringue pie filling! 1 box- Increase sugar to 3/4 C.; extra egg yolk after cooked whisk in 1 T. Lemon juice and butter. Double for a 9 in pie. Have tried a multitude of recipes. This is the best!! So many people have forgotten this 1960's (off the box) recipe.

The product is inconvenient. You have to separate eggs, there is no way to use the whites, you have to add sugar, and you have to add other liquid, stir constantly. It would almost be just as easy to making pudding starting from scratch using a 1970s cookbook.
