The wheels are made of foam. They are a bit weak if the kids are building a lot on top of the wheels. My son (6) loves the Playstix and this was a great add-on to the set we already have. Great toy for creative play.

These are great!! Easier than Legos for little kids and small enough to easily store. My little one especially liked the wheels that came with this set.

Great toy. My kids like them more than magnatiles, and they're a fraction of the price. My children, 3 and 9 months, have been using them for a month and are not bored yet- quite a feat! They are quite versatile, as my baby uses them as teething sticks.(You need to be careful to remove the smaller pieces though, as they can pose a choking hazard.) I highly recommend this toy.
