I bought the Hohner Super Chromonica in g to replace an old Hohner harmonica which was called "The Chromonica" . I wanted to get the same sound that i can get with the Super Chromonica duplicating the sound of the older discontinued "The Chromica" harmonicas as the construction is almost identical.I have a couple of Hohner Chromettas and a Hohner C X 12 and I believe that the Super Chromonica is the best sounding chromatic harmonica in my collection of chromatic harmonicas.I would rate them very highly.
The quality and sound are great.

I have been play diatonic harmonicas for about ten years, I play them mostly in a harmonica holder so I can play my guitar as well. This year I decided that I would like to try a chromatic harmonica because it offers a wider range of songs that can be played on it. I play mostly Bluegrass, Classic Country, a large amount of Gospel from both those genres, and a good number of Hymns right out from the hymnbook. You can do a lot a diatonic, but a lot more a chromatic harmonica. I've been playing Marine Band harmonicas for most of the time that I've been playing harmonica, so when I decided to get a chromatic, I knew that I wanted one along that line. This is a great sounding instrument just like the Marine Band diatonic harmonicas, and it is built with the same quality. If you're looking for quality and a great sound, this is definitely it. I'm definitely not very good with it, but I look forward to getting better.
Excellent. It does not have sticky valves.

The Super 270 is very nice and it sounds great right out of the box. No sticky wind saver. The slide is very smooth and responsive. I don't understand why Hohner still uses nails to secure the reed plates to the wood comb. I guess that they want you to pay extra for the Deluxe model to get the screws. What a pity!
