Beautiful, but not easy to read
C. Smith•May 23, 2018
I love the look of this clock, and the size. I thought it would be just what I wanted. However, with those bars behind the hour and minute hands, it is hard to read the time. Maybe if the bars were very thin, and the hands thicker, it would be easier. I thought of painting the bars the same color as the walls, but ended up placing a silver dot on the end of each hand.it definitely helps, but this is the only complaint.
Should have trusted the negative reviews

I just received my clock and am extremely disappointed! First off the hands are like everyone says. Not sure why they don't include a cap to keep them on the clock but I read a review/solution from another and thought I could go to the hardware store to fix that. Secondly, the clock didn't keep time once I put the battery in. No use for this then. Thirdly, it was very poorly welded together. Looks like they just put this together as fast as they could and didn't care what it looked like (box did say made in China).
Very disappointed. Went online to Kohls and found one at the same price. I'm trying that instead. Good luck if you do order this clock but beware....

The Best Clock I Have Ever Owned

I absolutely love this clock. It is a large clock which looks stunning against my antique white-painted walls. The hands came packed well and have worked well since. It adds to the rustic decor of my home and it is exactly what I was looking for in a clock. The metal is light [I did not want plastic] so I don't anticipate it falling from the wall and hurting anyone. It is painted a nice black color. The face is large so the time is easy to read from a distance.
Good value as compared to others in this price range

This clock has some good features, and at least the number IV is correct. No way I would buy a clock when the manufacturer couldn't even get that small detail right.
There is a ton of discussion on these boards about "flimsy" hands. Let me explain. These clocks use very low torque "AA" battery motors. At such a large size face, any stouter (read: HEAVIER) hands and the motor would not have enough torque to bring up the minute hand past 7 or 8. Hence the light hands.
To me, the hands were just too long to begin with. I cut and filed mine down somewhat.
Also, black hands against a black face, just didn't cut it. I want to glance at a clock only; not stare at it and try to decode where the hands are. I painted my hands white. Perfect!
I just completely overhauled my fireplace in travertine and the clock compliments the whole picture.

Perfect clock for our outdoor area and works with our deck furniture as well. I read a lot of reviews regarding the hands breaking and I guess the makers read the reviews because the hands were covered with a protective shield in the box and the entire thing arrived in perfect working order.
