DDQ12010 Dual Subwoofer Box
The Cable Man✓ Verified PurchaseApril 17, 2017
I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and really wanted some bass. I wanted it to be a stealth look and keep functionality of the back seats. I received this box in a timely manner and couldn't wait to put some subs in it and hear how it sounds. To install this box you have to remove the top of the rear seats which is very easy because there are only 4 torx bolts holding them in and once those are removed pull up and the seat will come off. I removed the carpeted back trim panel under the window to allow more room because the subs will sit right up against the back seats. Once you do that the grills will give the subs enough room for excursion. My setup sounds great! I have a Rockford Fosgate Power t500-bdcp powering two Skar EV-10 D4 and it pounds. People are surprised when they hear it and can't figure out where it's coming from because it's not visible or fathomable to think of a small box and small subs sounding so loud! Definitely worth the price! Only disappointment is that the company creates a 12" model of this box but I couldn't find anywhere to purchase it and the company never responded back to my emails.
!!!!Did not include the included parts !!!

This box did not come with the bar grills that it says are included with it which pissed me off but the box is okay with some modification I fit 2 Rockford fosgate p2 10's in it with 1200watt Rockford fosgate prime series amp

Nice custom box for 2004 Dodge Dakota quad cab. Not a lot of options for the space. 2 JL audio 10 inch subs. Sounds great.
Great if you put some work in

This box fits snug behind the back seats, but is pressed up right against the back of the seats. The box came well sealed and nicely finished and is pretty lightweight for its size You have to do a little modification to have your subs not hit the back of the bottom seat cushions, a simple trick I did was take out some of the foam and tape the back of the seat a bit more forward. The grills are also pretty helpful at keeping some space between the box and the back seats, however the top potion of the seats never really seem to fit back in perfectly with the grills in (I can't screw them back in at the sides, only hook them on the back rings). You definitely will have to put some effort into getting things to fit just right and have to make a compromise somewhere but if you're willing to put in the work it's worth it. Also I measured the mounting depth to be about 5 3/16", so keep that in mind when getting the subs for them. (I had bought subs going off the 5 9/16 mounting depth listed but they didn't fit so I added a 1/4" spacer ring to the holes to get the mounting depth of 5 and 3/8" that my subs required). All in all it's a nice box but requires some work to get everything to fit just right. With this box I also didn't have to go with shallows since you can easily add a spacer ring (although not everyone may have access to tools or have the time to make them).
Pros:
Fits in a tight space
well built
sub grills come in handy
nicely customizable if willing to put the work in
Cons:
tight space means subs can't move
require some work for optimum performance
less mounting depth than listed
Great box but, not so great design.....

I will give the makers of this box a fistbump for designing a box to go into an extremely tight spot in a Dakota. The box is well made but, I needed to reseal the inside of the box with gorilla glue to make it air-tight. There is enough mounting depth for a descent variety of subs, I have some cheap audiobahn $40 shallow subs that actually sound good. Eventually once I blow these subs up, I plan on getting some sundown audio sd-10s. Now, the box does come with some great sub grills but they are too big to really fit once the box is in position, had to remove two bars from each one (bottom and middle upper).. The thing that killed it for me with this box, is that once the subs are installed and box is in the truck, the bottom of the subs are pressed up against the seat bottom.... How the hell are your subs suppose to sound good and last if they are being muffled and stopped by the seat?? So I removed the seat bottoms and modified the seat frame along with removing foam from the back of the frame to give enough room for the subs to MOVE.. Now I have a good 1 1/2 between the sub and seat bottom. I honestly didn't mind doing it but, I am also mechanically inclined and a bit of a perfectionist... The average joe is gonna have a tough time making any sub sound good in this box without destroying their subs in the process... If I had to do it all over again I would have purchased the two individual sub boxes that fit a crew cab Dakota instead, just so I could remove one side/sub if I wanted without removing both seat backs.
PROs
well built
fits tighter than a glove
nice sub grills
mounting depth allows variety of subs
CONS
overly tight fitting, subs can't move
needed resealed
no polyfill included
need to modify seat frames for optimum sound and function of subs.
