It's 3 to 4 inches short to be comfortable walking/hiking staff. That said its a very well made and sturdy, and light weight battle axe !! Thanks
Fills a very narrow need for hiking stick, brush cutting and minimal animal protection.

It is true that head attachment is too weak for multiple strong chopping blows, but you can drill them out with larger bolts, hence 4 stars. I like this stick because of it small, lightweight size for hiking man made trails. In a mixed hiking group of strangers, the weapon sized head might draw unwanted attention alone, in the middle of the woods. Group hikes and Rambo don't always mix well. I am 5'10" and the stick is too short for me to grip the provided shaft hand hold, and gripping this by the larger axe head gives me less control and might be uncomfortable in a long 2 hour hike. Overall, I like design and weight, but after handling it, I question how effective it would be in a sneak small black bear animal attack when there is no time to draw back and stop a charging or jumping animal. This would be better for snakes and crawling threats and hacking thru brush. Sheath knives and a hiking partner are a better first line of defense. But this remains for me, a cool tool !
Good, for what it is

I've not yet had a reason to use it, but I can tell the crafting is top notch. The very ends of the blade aren't that sharp (first thing I check) the weight balance though is fantastic. The only thing I'd change is the grip, if you're not careful it can slide out pretty well, I'll be making a slight modification. Otherwise, fantastic. Hoping this gets to the company though, make the same without the axe head, just the hammerhead, for us city-folk, I love this, but I can't take it out.

It held up pretty well for my trip out in the woods. Barely had to sharpen it and love the look of it too

As a walking stick it's pretty nice but top heavy. The actual "stick" part is resin and will bend if alot of preasure is applied. The head is metal, the blade takes and keeps an edge. You can chop wood with it, but it's not as efficiant as a real axe. As a walking stick, it is pretty cool looking and it easily supports my weight. I used some 1/8" leather cord on the head and stick for visual affect and better grip on the head. For me this was a nice purchase.
