These are good enough that I have had a subscription for several years, but quality control is becoming inconsistent. I receive 4 packages each month and this is the 3rd time in the last half year that I've gotten a bad batch. One came visibly moldy and Amazon replaced it no questions asked. One other delivery was marginal, and the most recent bad package arrived today. Here's a side-by-side comparison of how they should arrive, and a bad batch. The tightly bunched, vacuumed sealed package with fresh pink is normal. The grayish-green package on the right has started gassing, so the package itself is puffy. No obvious signs of mold yet, but it's going bad. If you only ordered a single package and got something like the package on the right, you might not realize that it was going bad.

Best value turkey sticks I have found - with very good taste and texture. I have had a hard time finding meat sticks or jerkey that aren't spicy or peppered, which I love but my 4 year old won't eat. She's picky and eats few meats and likes these. They have good flavor and both my husband and I like as well. The others we have found that are not spicy and nitrite free tend to cost a lot more and be very soft and some people think disgusting due to the soft texture.

Package said to use before 8-12-17. It also says to refrigerate after opening. Today 5-25-17 I opened it for the first time. I took a bite of one of the sticks - it had a funny taste. I looked down and saw mold on it. Please see the picture for a visual of the mold and package with the instructions to refrigerate after opening, and also the date to use by.

Very disappointed in this company!

I love beef sticks and sausage in general, so I was really excited to find these on Amazon for a good price. Then I started reading the reviews and seeing pictures of so many packages that had moldy sausage. I decided to try my luck anyway since my regular sausage was out of stock. I waited to write this review until the entire package was gone to ensure they didn't go moldy.

Today I ate the last of the package and am happy to report that they stayed fresh for me! The pack comes with 30 sticks and I ate two a day for a midday protein snack to help keep my blood sugar up. I put them in the fridge right away when they arrived and kept the there, just folding the plastic over once I opened them up. No problems in the 15 days I've had them. I should mention these are the beef sticks and not the turkey. The turkey wasn't available when I placed my order otherwise I may have tried those first.

I'm super happy with this purchase. The sticks are full of flavor and mild. They didn't taste fatty or greasy and they have a nice snap to them. Each stick has 5 grams of protein and like I said, these make a perfect midday snack. I will definitely order again. I'm not sure what the mold situation was from that a few people experienced. Maybe they weren't refrigerated after opening or maybe they became too hot during transit. Either way, I'm glad I took the chance and ordered and that mine remained fresh for the two weeks.

These are great! They don't taste artificial, greasy and stringy and inedible like the bad old Slim Jims you can buy at Walmart. They taste like real food. Being that they are processed meat they are naturally a bit salty but not overwhelmingly so. They do come in a large package so after I opened it, I repackaged the sticks into smaller amounts and sealed them in plastic with my vacuum sealer. I then threw the packs in the freezer to be safe. Of course they did not last long enough to be worth the bother of bagging and freezing them as they are already all gone. My boyfriend went nuts over them and gobbled them up and requested more, immediately. He will have to wait until my next Subscribe & Save order!
