I discovered this collar when we adopted a retired Guide Dog. He was wearing one and I liked it so much I hunted one down for our other dog. I like that it's somewhat loose fitting so it seems comfortable, but then gives me a little leverage when I'm on a walk and my younger dog thinks he should pull. It's not a harsh correction and the design limits how much it tightens. He still practically ignores it, anyway (working on that), but it makes him think. The chain does not rust and this collar still looks great a year later. I even had another dog stay for 2 weeks that loved to wrestle with my puppy which involved a lot of grabbing each other's collars and the other dog's collar started to shred while my dog's looked untouched. Great product!

OK, well folks, you can't rely on a collar to train your dog. Like all collars and harnesses, training is required. You can't just buy a new collar and expect to take your dog on a little stroll through the park. Training is a daily experience with your dog, and deepens your bond. Teach him/her how you want him/her to behave and you will have the perfect pet. It takes work, but it's rewarding. The collar won't do it for you. Remember, train with kindness.

Most dog owners are using halter type collars today. While traveling on our interstate highway system a few years ago, I had my two Min Pins with me. We stopped at a rest area and I proceeded to leash up my dogs to take them out for a potty break. Both dogs were wearing halter type collars. One of my dogs backed up and right out of the halter collar she was in. She took off running in the rest area and I nearly had a heart attack trying to catch her! As soon as possible I changed to this soft choker type collar. No more backing out of this and putting herself in a dangerous situation.

These collars are great and well made. My only complaint is the sizing. i have three dogs, two are about 70 lbs, and one is 50 lbs. The medium collar is too big for them so i had to go with the "small" and they fit fine. These are not small dogs, so you really have to go with the neck measurement in inches on the chart. Also, the smaller the size, the narrower the collar...i would prefer the width of the Medium or Large size but have to go with the narrower collar since i have to use Small for these large dogs. Other than that, they are very good quality and i love the quick release since you don't have to pull the collar off over theirs ears, just a quick pinch of the release and their off...but doesn't come off accidentally. Glad i found these!!
