A lovely pot, impresses us all! Also, 5050SS is the only one that works with induction

Love this pot, and so does everyone else. Looks wonderful! Note that this is the only stainless steel that supports induction, has special ferrous metal in the bottom that supports the induction surface. It was around ~$60 for this pot which is the 5050SS model. I bought an induction surface, and it a nice experience at the table and no sterno or alcohol burning. We love this setup!

There is another model of the pot 5050 which (I think is stainless?? or pewter maybe), sometimes you'll see listed as 5050P and looks bumpy and more rustic and costs around $120 - HOWEVER (at the time I purchased) that one was confusingly mislabled both on BonChef website and in their product PDF literature on a page saying stainless induction and showing both pots 5050 and 5050SS which led me to believe both could heat using induction and the 5050 simply had a nicer (rustic bumpy pewter style) appearance - dont let this mislead you... The more expensive pot is about 2x more money, is stainless or pewter (not clear which), has a beautiful rustic pewter finish, but DOES NOT have the induction bottom and DOES NOT have induction compatibility (I spent a lot of time going back and forth with "are you sure?? but your literature..." with the sales person at BonChef and ultimately the conclusion is that for the more expensive $120 pewter finish 5050 it will not support induction. I was totally ready to shell out the extra money for the cooler pot, but it was going to need a flame or a conduction hot plate - would not work with the cool to touch induction plates.

We bought this in our attempt to imitate the Melting Pot. Needless to say, with the insert and an induction burner, we are experts at melting cheese and passing it as a meal alone.
Love the Melting Pot

Love the Melting Pot, not the price. We use the NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop at our kitchen table with the kids or a romantic night alone. We recently took to Disney and used it our hotel for a night of chocolate fondue. Great, quality product.
Perfect

I was wanting to duplicate the experience we had at the resturaunt, and this did the trick. I later ordered additional inserts and you consider two at your initial purchase.
If you like fondue, this is diffidently what you want

If you like fondue, this is diffidently what you want. Exactly like the Melting Pot. Just buy yourself 2 Bon Chef 5151 bowl inserts if you plan on having multiple courses so you don't have to worry about cleaning when your eating.
