It worked out of the packaging. This little device worked perfectly, and allowed me to connect my Macbook Pro to the DVI port on my Acer monitor.
There are cheaper alternatives to these adapters available through Amazon, but why risk the potential for problems? This device is backed with a solid 1 year warranty too, as described on the iLuv website.
