If you're looking for a solder pot that's designed to be used all day, every day in a production shop, and used by pros who know what they're doing and not by a weekend DIYer, this is it. I've been building electronics for 50yrs and once in a while it's nice to see a company design something the way it would have been designed 50 yrs ago, because it was designed TO WORK - not to be pretty, or "safe for dummies", or designed to be built for $10 in China. This is serious tool meant for serious work.
First, IT GETS HOT. (Of course, you say, IT MELT SOLDER!) What I mean is, it gets hot all over. The entire solder pot gets hot. Enough so that we picked up some 12" x 12" scrap tile at a tile shop, put four thick felt feet on the corners of the smooth side and turned them upside down to create an insulated ceramic base under each pot that is safe on any surface. (It also makes a good place fold the dross to fall when you skim the dross off the top of the solder.)
We have two of these in our shop. One loaded with standard lead-free solder, the other with low temperature lead-free solder.
