I bought this bow to learn how to shoot Barebow Recurve from the shelf (without an arrow rest). The riser is well made and works great. I would suggest buying a rug rest to shoot off the shelf, or a compatible arrow rest to preserve the riser. The arrow rest that it comes with is a cheap stick-on version and I don't recommend using it.

The limbs are proprietary and don't follow the ILF standard, meaning that you will eventually outgrow this riser as your skill outgrows the quality of Samick limbs.

Due to the proprietary limbs, I gave it a 4. Otherwise, this is an excellent and affordable starting bow

I initially gave this a 1 star review due to the fact that it seemed as though the string or the wings were not the correct length. I requested a replacent and it arrived very quickly. It also had the same issue...or so I thought.

I kept looking for a way to contact the seller but could not find one which was frustrating. I kept looking at the information provided on the bow in Amazon and could not find anything - directions to string the bow, a way to contact,, etc.

Eventually, I tried to go on their website and found a link to a video of how to string the bow. So I watched it and tried to follow the directions, but I packed the strength to do the last bit where you force the bow to bend to get the string to slide into place. My son tried and struggled as well. Eventually, with both of us trying to bend it, we managed to get it.

That being said, the bow itself is beautifully crafted and my son loves it! I changed the 1 star to 4 stars due to this, as the bow came without instructions, a link to the video, or any kind of note staying he should get a stringer - which would haveade the stringing of the bow much, much easier. If these things were included, it would deserve 5 stars.

I bought this bow as a hobby and a potential survival tool. The quality of the bow itself is good and there are no defects or issues with the arms or center of the bow.

As a 55lb draw, this bow could be used for basic hunting, and overall the punch the bow delivers feels effective and makes for deep target penetration.

I have seen many similar bows go for a lot more and overall I am pleased with the shooting capabilities and aesthetics of the bow. With a few accessories I was able to make a very quiet and accurate practice bow.

I bought this bow because of good reviews all over the internet, but the first time I went to string it, the top loop snapped as soon as it got tension.
If you buy this bow get a different string as well, I went with a black widow string and now it shoots great.

First I drank the koolaid and bought the Southwest archerys spider xl that supposedly was made by Saicks guys and US " based".
Returned it as every piece of it was made in China. Was milslead. Glad I returned it and bought the reg. Samick Sage!!!! Looks to be made in Korea hopefully true and REALLY shoots nice!!
