I wasn't sure about Watersnake at 1st. Like most recreational fishermen from the USA, I had never heard of them. It is an Australian brand made by Jarvis Walker Marine (apparently they make lots of fishing and boating stuff) that is very popular there and in Europe and now they're in America..Not many reviews here on Amazon but on other websites the feedback on these trolling motors is overwhelmingly positive, which probably explains why this particular model is sold out everywhere including Amazon, Wal Mart, & eBay. Between the metal mount (not sure if it's steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Others brands incl. Minn Kota use plastics), all the positive reviews and the fact that it was $100 less than a Minn Kota Endura Max 50-lb. I decided to take a chance. It's smooth and quiet at every speed, except 5, where it gives a little jolt as it lifts the bow slightly and plows through the water. It is also easy on the battery, I have a 29DC and after 6 hours i still had about 60% battery left. If you can find one, get it.
