Suitable as a raw meat snack; NOT useful for chewing exercise or dental hygiene needs.

These will do NOTHING for dental hygiene no matter what size dog you have. They are so small that even a toy size dog could gulp it down without doing much if any chewing. And they are so soft that the one or two chews that even a really small dog might give it wouldn't provide any chewing or plaque scraping benefits. So understand it's function before buying these: They seem suitable as raw treats, snacks, or the raw meat portion of a meal. They are NOT useful for chewing exercise or dental hygiene needs. I really do recommend soaking them for a few hours or overnight in a bowl of water inside the refrigerator vs. feeding them in their dry state. Many dogs don't drink as much water as they really need, so I avoid food items that will dehydrate them further (like freeze-dried or dehydrated food or dry kibble).

This is the only company that I've found that makes freeze-dried chicken necks. These are so expensive, but my dog really loves them. I also love the fact that they can be fully re-hydrated if set in water overnight in the frig. My dog eats them both ways.

I wish they offered them in a larger, more economical pack as I can't afford these all the time.
PERFECT! :-)

I buy quite a few freeze-dried items from Fresh is Best, and I've been pleased every single time with the quality, including the whole chicken necks. I've never fed them dry; I always re-hydrate them overnight and they actually do hydrate nicely, into "real" chicken necks :-)
Kudos to Fresh is Best for their excellent products.
Choking hazard

My cat choked on this bone. She couldn't breathe for a few seconds and thankfully was able to throw it up, but I would not recommend these for cats! She's an outdoor cat and avid hunter, always chowing on mice, birds etc. However this bone got lodged in her throat. I think the bones are too large as cats don't naturally catch big honking chickens and turkeys, they catch smaller birds and mice. I also don't recommend cutting the bones into smaller pieces as that actually creates even more choking hazard (according to my online research!). I'd avoid these for cats!
even my finicky siamese loved them!

I've been trying to get myself and my cats on a healthier lifestyle. For them, in particular, less processed ingredients, less by-products, more protein, and organic foods (as far as my budget allows). So, I began buying them dehydrated meat treats, to replace their feline greenies (kitty crack).

While my siamese boy has turned his snobby little head at all I've attempted, he's fallen in love with these dehydrated chicken necks. As soon as I pull the bag out, he's begging for them. My calico girl also likes them (but she'll eat anything).

They may seem a tad pricy, but they're worth it. I give them each have a neck, twice per week, so the bag lasts me about a two months. These are great for helping remove buildup from their teeth, and thus help with their breath in between cleaning.

The ingredients are plain and simple (meat); no by-products, grains, or stuff I can't pronounce. Also, made in the USA, so yay, helping the country's economy!
