The material is smooth, thick, and does not hold odor. Seems well-made, like it will last awhile. My only gripe is the fit. It doesn't stretch much, so it's super tight pulling over your head, but then the neck circumference is so large, it does not stay up to cover neck/lower face from the wind and elements. I had ordered the small, and I am a 5'6" female of average build, if you're trying to determine what size might work for you.
