Dialed in three rifles, have not had the occasion to get to the range. If this unit works as I expect it to this has been a great purchase. I own a number of optic sighting units, this was by far the easiest to use, not mention the ability to use it on a number of weapons. Very happy, THANK YOU!

I have purchased several different laser bore sighters over the past year or so, and each of them except this one has had an inherent flaw. I shoot 22 rifles. Most of the other laser bore sighters have a "tail" that you insert into the barrel of the rifle. To make the sighter fit properly, a special tip is required on the tail, which doesn't always line up correctly. This results in inaccurate sighting. The Wheeler Professional Bore Sighter attaches to the muzzle of the rifle with a big magnet. This works on the stainless steel barrels that I have as well as the chromoly barrels and other steel barrels that are found on most 22's. Because the end of the barrel is perpendicular to the bore of the rifle, the beam will always be parallel to the bore of the rifle, as well. This is explained thoroughly in the instructions. The only thing it won't adhere to is an aluminum flash hider or other aluminum attachment. Guess what guys! You can REMOVE the attachment, align your scope or sights and then reattach the flash hider.Remember all this is supposed to do is get your shots on the paper. This does it quickly and easily. Just remember to take out the battery when you are through using it. One other thing, If you are doing this indoors, use a paper target as your sighting point. The reflction of the laser is very powerful.

Spend your money once, you'll be glad you did. Green is brightest, but consumes more energy from the battery. Not a big deal for me. Set a target up (25 yds) in my back yard in broad daylight. Laser beam spot was visible, but barely. Provided shade for my target and all the laser light became brilliant as it should be. Also used the bore sighter for a peep site adjustment. A quality bore sighter for any barrel size. Bite the bullet and make the purchase.

Forget about trying to see the dot on a regular steel or paper target, you won't be able to see it past 10 yards, let alone 100.
HOWEVER, you can see it on the reflective sighting sheet included with the laser, or something else similarly reflective, over 100 yards. I sighted my rifle using this laser and the reflective sheet and the green dot was extremely clear even at 100 yards, but ONLY on a reflective surface. I was frustrated that this thing wasn't working at first, but using it on a reflective surface really makes a difference.

First shot was about 5 inches away from the bullseye. Not bad, just don't expect your first shot to be perfect, even if the laser is mounted a fraction of an inch off-center, it translates into several inches of difference at 100 yards, the effect is less pronounced at shorter distances.

Also consider putting some tape over the laser's magnet, it'll protect the magnet surface and your muzzle from scratches and the magnet is powerful enough to work through the tape.

Makes sigting in quick and easy. Magnet holds it on the muzzle and is about 3/4" at 50 yds. Easily visible in full sunlight. Once sights are aligned with the laser spot the rifle can be fine tuned with live ammo which is usually very quick since the laser gets the sights very close to the bore.
