Probably a good pump in the right job

The pump is a fine piece of machinery, sturdy and easy to set up. However, the information provided about application and materials suitable for transfer is not good. Pumps should state whether they are compatible with vegetable oils or not. I followed instructions and washed the pump thoroughly to remove manufacturing lubricants and still got black material released into the oil I was pumping. A second wash procedure produced the same result. See attached photo. Presumably the carbon vanes are not compatible with the oil. AMT has not answered my questions and in fact neither has Amazon, though I don't think it is truly their responsibility. The oil in the picture should be a light yellow transparent material, not used motor oil.
