Great Product, Confusing Use
Beth•February 6, 2018
This product I bought for my dad on his pontoon boat because he loves to fish. This is a great, durable product. Only thing is, it was a little confusing on how to keep the fishing rod in this contraption. That could just be me, but a suggestion is that it would be beneficial to include picture directions on how to apply the fishing rod.
Good rod holder
Tim Mitchell•November 4, 2017
Clamps nicely to rail for use on pontoons and can be moved anywhere on the boat without tools. The latch however, is not strong enough to be trusted to keep your rod secure should you catch a fish. I put a zip tie around the latch to fix this and now functions as it should
Just what the doctor ordered

Just the remedy to get me out fishing, I use on my dock and on my pontoon, clamps nice but a bit of a process to cast, put in the holder and reel, Will never be as effective to set the hook, so keep your hand on the pole.
Inconsistent Quality of Fit
Harold T. Read•August 3, 2017
This rod holder works OK, but the Quality Control is poor. I have 2 of these, and I have had to add Tape to both of them, to act as shims, to tighten up the fit in areas where the parts fit too loosely. It's a pretty good design, and it actually clamps down tightly on my boat's gunnel. I just wish the QUALITY of Fit was better, and consistently properly fitted. These are pricey, and the Quality of fit should be better for the price.
Eagle Claw AABRH Boat Rod Holder

I purchased mine for my14.6 Pelican DLX Canoe and I love it. It's heavy duty construction is strong enough to troll with in a boat for those big Spring time Rockfish. While I do agree that there's more than enough room to tighten this on the side of my canoe I simply cut a 1" piece of treated 5 1/4 board and presto a perfect and even stronger fit. Would I buy another one? Your darn right I would and will so as soon as I'm done giving my opinionated review of this product.
