Good bottles, bad caps

I must have got a bad batch of caps. The bottles were fine, but when I was sanitizing I noticed liquid leaking out the caps on about half the bottles. Figured just to tighten them down more, but the retaining ring on the cap was already seated on the bottle so it couldn't go any further. It's like the ring on the caps was cut too thick. Got around it by removing the retaining ring completely, which was kind of a pain as they were pretty tough to remove.

Bottles caps are usable once and then the locking tab is separated. Without the tab you don't get a tight seal on the bottle. I haven't been able to find bottle caps sold separately from the bottles. Bottles are reusable but really need a lot more bottle caps.
