This was purchased to replace a similar lamp. I like the fact that it uses 150-watt and 60-watt bulbs. Gives sufficient light to a room that has no overhead lighting. The base and the stem was not as wide as my old one and I was a bit concerned. It is sitting atop a wood floor. I'm not sure how stable it would be on a thick carpeted floor. Works great for me and fits with the décor. Arrived quickly. Would purchase from seller again.

packaging is very bad. those white foam break easily and tiny chips go everywhere. Plastic wtap on the stems is too cheap and not sure if it adds any protection. As for the product itself, the stem diameter is not much bigger than a finger size. the base is thin and not level. does not give much confidence that this thing could last. the design looks nice and looks good in the room.
Best to avoid this product.

A few things: First the tube that goes up to your lamps are at is not quite the width of a dime. Very skinny. Its in 5 separate pieces and they screw together...(sort of). They don't screw together very well because they are super fine threads and strip extremely easy. If you strip just one section...you will have "Wobbly" lamp. So be careful about putting it together. The last section you put together the cords are a little thicker because there are two of them and the tube doesn't turn very well and usually turns the cord with it...which can break the wire inside the cord. This can start a fire and your lamp may or may not work. It is "supposed" to come with two lamp screws to hold the plastic lampshades onto the lamp...mine only came with one. So...one of the lamps doesn't have the flimsy plastic shade on it. All in all I wish I would have never bought it...much better off getting something else or going to a garage sale and finding something else. This is seriously not worth the money and probably even dangerous, the base is weighted...but its so flimsy its just not a good deal. I'm throwing mine in the trash...Yes, its really that bad. So embarrassed I spent my hard earned money on this.

We dont have a ceiling light in our living room and wanted different lighting schemes, so this lamp was the best of both worlds and also affordable. The plastic actually looks like glass, so it doesnt look cheap. We used this light nightly in our living room for almost 3 years. One day, we started smelling an odd smell kind of like chemicals or plastic burning for several weeks and could never figure out what it was. Finally, one day i was cleaning she shades and realized the smaller shade had completely melted on the side facing the wall, and the plastic had burned and completely crumbled into the bulb resulting in a larg burn hole. This is extremely dangerous and really scared us, realizing we could have had a fire. Now i realize why they banned plastic shades in my college dorms in 2007. This is why. This is a good temporary light, but it is dangerous as a daily use light. I see other people having th same problem. Very dangerous.[...]

I was looking for a nice lamp for my living room, definitely needed something bright. I was originally a bit wary buying a lamp online due to not being able to see it in person, but I am glad I trusted the reviews and pictures and went with this lamp.
Pros:
-This has amazing lighting for the size of the lamp, same goes for the reading lamp.
-I love that the reading lamp and the main light has two different switches. I typically keep both on, but it's nice to have the option.
-I've gotten compliments on the way the lamp looks - It's a very beautiful lamp for the price.
-The extension cord is a very nice length, not too long, but not too short.
