I bought this hoping it would work for a full size 1911 with rail mounted surefire light and I'm happy to say it fits perfectly. I'd prefer that the retention strap/thumb break covered the hammer instead of the grip safety, but that's a minor point, I'm not using this as a carry holster more just to keep the gun and an extra mag protected while in my bag or safe. For the price this is a great solution.

Great everyday open carry holster. I had a harder time than I thought I would trying to find a good holster for a Springfield XD.45 ACP with a crimson trace railmaster laser sight. This fits great and has a spot for an extra magazine which is also great. The thumb break pops open easily and the belt clip is ambidextrous, so if you're right or left handed it will be a good fit. It's a soft holster so no scratches or scrapes on your expensive pistols either.

Reviewer Comment: ACE CASE has been around for many years now.... remember when they first appeared in Florida Gun Shows,, in the '80's I believe,, good quality then and better with time. One Star deducted for Long Term Longevity which is an unknown; however, considering the quality there is no reason for not buying this holster. This holster design by nature of it's design is a little Bulky to be used as an IWB holster, and depending on your firearm choice it may be hard to utilize as a CCW holster for our personal carry guns- BUT this reviewer has used this holster design for that job (This is a question of personal choice; personal choice of firearm to be carried and what the owner's needs are. It has nothing to do with the holster or how it's built. NOTE: Ace Case HAS all the feature built into this design to cover a WIDE variety of situations and a multitude of carry conditions, allowing the holster to be used for an even greater variety of firearms including safety features. The holster may be used for CCW; limitations are the owner's choice that have nothing to do with the holster's design. PRO: Many holsters from other companies with this same design,, larger generic fit for a wide variety of firearms which lowers owner's holster costs by needing fewer holsters-- fit and finish and general quality is as good or better than holster costing twice as much. Nylon appears to be good quality as described. GUNS THAT DO FIT-- Large frame auto like Glock Model 20 will fit, ... also a Keltec Model PMR-30 will fit (pmr30 is a semi-auto 22mag pistol -- PMR-30 owners...Surprise !! -- the front magazine pouch WILL hold the pmr-30 magazine ) Originally intended a PMR-30 with a flashlight below for this Ace Case holster. Gun with light MAY fit; however that's a - ''maybe'' -- since the SyndeRay CREE flashlight ordered arrived NEW? with a BAD switch and no battery; despite having a battery from other gear--still no joy- the SyndeRay flashlight was junk Sooooo cannot say positively the flashlight will fit- need to update when another flashlight arrives (unlikely to be SyndeRay brand)

CON: None seen at the moment. Only improvement would be a slightly long hook at bottom of metal clip to keep the clip in place... it is possible Not to have hooked if not watching. Once clip is on correctly, doubt there will ever be an issue with coming off. A nylon stretch cord at the rear of holster opening for an additional weapon retention option would be nice.. Not a real Con as it is not advertised with one; the holster if anything is better than it's described. FOR THE FEATURES, AND QUALITY OF MATERIALS, AT THIS PRICE ON AMAZON, THIS ACE CASE NYLON HOLSTER (claiming for Springfield XD-9 and others) IS AN EXCELLENT VALUE. davzway

Excellent holster for my pistol. It works well "“ I have a full sized HK-45 Tactical {No Suppressor-Yet}, with a Laser. It was very difficult to find a reasonably priced holster. This one works well. It is easily converted from right side carry-to-left side carry. MADE in the USA. The only {minor} drawback is the "snap" that goes across the hammer is not easily undone. Rather than potentially damage that I just release it from the Velcro strip; actually it's quicker that way. That said you can adjust the strap to accommodate the length of your pistol. Again good investment for the money.
