Great value

Like other reviews say, there are no instructions - just a parts list with picture pointing to where the part goes. Really don't understand why they cannot include instructions. That being said, it wasn't too hard to figure out what to do and they do work pretty well. For the price, as compared to the big name brands, this is a solid way to go. Definitely get them all built and put together before going to your vehicle as the pre-assembly does take a while.
One other thing, the tie-down straps they provide aren't very long. I found that they wouldn't go around my kayak and I had to buy straps of my own. Not a deal breaker at this price, but something to plan for it you don't want to delay your kayaking.

Make sure you measure before you buy

We had bought this for our 2016 Hyundai Tucson unfortunately it does not fit the factory crossbars in the pictures the cross bars are almost two and a half long and the part that would fit over the crossbars is only one and a half these would be perfect for a smaller roof rack. They seem like they would be very sturdy. Everything came on time nicely packaged just really stinks that they just don't fit!
Not bad for the money.

I used these for the firs time yesterday and so far so good. I saw complaints about the number of bolts for assembly and it can be a pain but it's a one time issue. The mounts seem to be secure (I used a wrench and not the cheap plastic twist handles). Each set had a 60lb kayak and I traveled about 40 miles and averaged 60-70mph without issue. I was cautious at first because I saw reviews stating they had come off while driving but luckily I didn't have any issues. For the price, you can't beat it, as long as they hold up. The only downside is I wish they were fold-able so I didn't have to put them on then off every time (I guess I really down). I didn't bother with the included straps because they feel cheap but it's a nice touch. Overall I'm happy with this purchase but I will see how they hold up.
Serves its purpose

This product serves its purpose. This was a great inexpensive way to carry two Kayaks on my hatchback. I haven't had a problem but only traveled approximately 2hrs total with kayaks on board. They stayed tight to the pre existing roof rack.
The Cons are putting this together can take an hour or more.
The bolts are longer then needed, so there is a lot of tightening of the 6 nuts on each j-Bar.
I also think I would have spent more money on a product that had an easier on/off application in regards to attaching and removing the J-Bar to the roof rack. For now, removing 8 nuts isn't bad.
The black screw pieces they give you get very closet other making it difficult to tighten then.
What I did was I put the black caps on the outside four nuts and used an open ended ratchet for the two nuts that attach to the roof rack.
All in all, if recommend this product, you may want figure out some sort of quick on/off of you like to remove the racks frequently.

VERY HAPPY WITH THESE!

I was a little nervous about this product with the other reviews I read. They were VERY easy to put together if you understand how to do it. I didn't have to boil anything. Just put them together. I secured them to square roof rack bars and they are very secure. I didn't use the wrench that came with them, had a larger one that worked much better. They hold the kayaks on my vehicle very well. The straps that come with them work great. When tightened on my vehicle there is no movement of the kayaks. When we went to pick up my new kayaks I has two people stop to ask me where I got my roof carriers. They LOOK good on my car! ... Don't you think?
