This is very overpriced. Chinese markets used to sell them for 75 cents a can, but because of their popularity in New York they now sell them for around 2.50 a can. It is very salty, and you can even eat the bones. It sounds strange, but if you like salty goodness then you will LOVE this black bean fish.

These are delicious! I thought they would be more like anchovies, it is not. More like a fish, but not fishy. I enjoyed them. My advice don't get one can get three, you will eat the whole can yourself.

I wouldn't buy it for more than a buck or two per can, but it is tasty stuff. Mix it in with hot steamed rice, add some vinegary hot sauce and roasted peanuts and maybe a little cilantro, and you've got yourself a great midnight snack. Eat the bones.
