The size was OBNOXIOUS! This may very well work for that sweaty guy in Home Depot with the blue jumper and all the random keys, But for a regular guy looking to free up valuable pocket space... Its a NO for me... The pictures make it look inconspicous, but in person, the things looks like a holster! It's huge! get a smaller one
Sturdy except for the clip pin

Heavy duty plastic case, cord and ring seem sturdy enough still after many months' daily use. My one complaint is that the watchband-type pin (optional) that holds the bottom of the belt clip closed (so that the Key-Bak can't be pulled off or slip off the belt unless the belt is removed from the wearer) broke early on. I have not been able to locate a pin that fits, however I was able to jury-rig it with a piece of stainless wire. Otherwise this thing is great and the retracting mechanism much sturdier than the standard Key-Bak one.

The item is made of cheap plastic unfortunately. The belt clip doesn't lock into place as it states in description. The item is also very big, it's larger than the size of my palm and I am a large person. After doing my research I felt that this product was right for my needs, but the cheap plastic and the defective belt clip on the back forced me to return this item. Don't get me wrong, the belt clip works as stated, but if you plan to use this product for anything more than "light duty".. it isn't for you.
LEFT HANDERS - a warning

I just receieved it so haven't had a change to use it yet; however, I am left handed and this is a right handed device. It is meant to wear on your right side, and keys pull out from a slot on the front of the device as you can see on the photo. It would be facing backwards if worn on the left. There is no symmetrical slot on the other side of the device. The slot directly center bottom is the lock/no pull position, which is a good thing.
Another reminder we live in a right handed world...
And I wish they came in prettier colors which would also make them easier to see. Bet they'd sell more. Manufacturer, take note!

A lot of staff at the prison I work at use this key keeper. It keeps our keys close to our body yet has enough of length when unlatched to unlock drawers or doors without difficulty. The only issue I have is my our keys are supposed to hook to another secondary hook of some sort. Also my ring has too many keys, more than what it is set in weight and number. So be warned there is a limit to how many keys and how heavy.
