The size was OBNOXIOUS! This may very well work for that sweaty guy in Home Depot with the blue jumper and all the random keys, But for a regular guy looking to free up valuable pocket space... Its a NO for me... The pictures make it look inconspicous, but in person, the things looks like a holster! It's huge! get a smaller one
Sturdy except for the clip pin

Heavy duty plastic case, cord and ring seem sturdy enough still after many months' daily use. My one complaint is that the watchband-type pin (optional) that holds the bottom of the belt clip closed (so that the Key-Bak can't be pulled off or slip off the belt unless the belt is removed from the wearer) broke early on. I have not been able to locate a pin that fits, however I was able to jury-rig it with a piece of stainless wire. Otherwise this thing is great and the retracting mechanism much sturdier than the standard Key-Bak one.

Terrific for having keys at the ready, especially for frequently opening locked doors, as my job demands. I had a cheaper version which lacked the belt latch. If you have to reach up with a box cutter or key, that type pulls right off your belt (annoying!) but this design stays put. I gave it a four star only because I do not like the lock feature on the cord pull. I think it's unnecessary and I don't get its purpose.

Feels pretty sturdy and works fine so far. It has good tension for securing 2-12 keys or so. I carry some keys that are very expensive if lost, so I was looking forward to using the "pin" to secure the clip into a solid belt loop. I envisioned a screw-in pin that would secure the bottom of the clip. Instead the pin was one of those tiny spring pins like the kind that hold on watchbands. It's designed to fit into slots on either side of the end of the clip piece, but the pin and mounts are so flimsy, any good tug to pull the holder away from the belt and the pin just goes flying. I knocked off 1 star for that. The clip itself seems pretty firm and the holder didn't slip up off my belt until I manually pushed outward on the end of the clip piece. Not a bad product, but I wish they'd just designed it with a screw to bolt the clip down for a more secure loop.

Using this daily for many months now. It definitely works as advertised and is high quality. The kevlar cord is lightweight and strong, and doesn't chew through the housing (my previous retractable chain would wear down the metal over time and eventually broke).
The only problem with this model (and why I just ordered a different replacement) is that the steel belt clip scratches belts. Over time it's scuffed up 6 different belts of varying thicknesses and quality (all leather though).
Other observation is that it's much larger than it looks in the photos, so can cause some discomfort while sitting, if it's not adjusted to be exactly on your side.
