Beautiful fountain, cheap mechanics.
Thistle✓ Verified Purchase•April 13, 2018
The structure of the fountain itself is beautiful. Nice stoneware arranged into a very pretty style and was about the size I anticipated. However, the mechanics are terrible. The solar panel does not have any kind of energy storage so it only works when the solar panel is in full light. The worst part is that the clamps to hold the tubing in place and the tubing itself are cheap and flimsy and broke within 24 hours of being assembled. I have had to order new tubing and I also ordered a different pump because I want the fountain to work more than just a few hours a day. The three stars are for the aesthetic value only. It will be a beautiful fountain once I replace the cheapo parts.
I Have Loved These Fountains for 15 Years - I never use the Solar Feature

My first experience with this type of fountain was a new in the box yard sale find almost 15 years ago, in terra cotta. It had no instructions, but I quickly figured out how to put it together. I immediately decided I would not use the solar feature and purchased a cheap $10 fountain pump. I fell in love. It sits on my covered front porch table in front of a window and greets all visitors. I enjoy looking at it through the window, and hearing it when I open the window. My cat loves to sit in front of that open window and be fascinated. Every 3-4 years, I buy a new fountain just like this for two reasons - I want a change in color, and hard water stains eventually cause it to begin looking bad. In addition to the yard sale find in flat terra cotta, I have had a glazed medium green, a glazed speckled gray and this year, I will put out the glazed lava red. With each purchase, I always purchase extra an AC fountain pump. I run my fountains 24/7 from April to October. I put enough decorative rock in the bottom bowl to keep the pump out of sight. I put water in it at least every other day, but watch it every day to make sure I don't need to add more. I always check it after storms with high winds because it can lose water quickly when the wind can causes the water to splash outside of the bowls. I use only minimal algae control product. Because it is on a covered porch, birds do not visit it, but I have seen the occasional praying mantis sitting on it. I love this model fountain. It's not to big and not too small. The sound is not too loud and not too soft. It comes in a variety of colors so I can select the one that's just right for me. As long as they are available, I will always purchase this particular fountain.
It's beautifuto look at and easy to assemble

It's beautifuto look at and easy to assemble, but the solar unit has no power stoage ability. Literally, every time the sun goes behind a cloud you need to re-prime the pump! That's a full time job. So I have iwned this gorgeous cascading fountain for a couple of weeks-- but have only received about 20 minutes of fountain activity. Having to place the solar feature in direct sunlight. -- unplug the circulation hose to re-prime the pump.. And then it's beautiful for five minutes, before any type of shade, or sun blockage happens... And then you have a water fountain that shuts down, and DOES NOT automatically resrart when direct sunlight returns! Pointless, stupidand ridiculous!! Just a non-functioning ornament. NOT what I expected for the price! Find a unit that stores power to function continuously, or buy a unit you can plug in for continuous perfirmance.
Keep It Pumping

This is a nice fountain that operates very well using the solar panel as long as the shade does not drift over the yard placement. In the late afternoon it can't get enough sun so I found using a power adapter, the Hosa Cable ACD477 Universal AC Power Supply from Amazon, a great way to keep the pump active. I ran the power line out the window for easy access and simply unplug the solar panel at the panel and use the lengthy line to the fountain to plug into the alternate power and continue to enjoy the fountain's soothing sounds. After a time I clean the fountain since they all will get slimy and it is like new again. Add rocks to provide some extra color and enjoy a fountain that you can relocate easily without taking a lot of space on your patio.
Nice but can be improved

I bought this for our front yard. It came well packages and was just as described. The pump itself is a small little unit but does what it should.
It does not have any sort of filter so be prepared to clean the intake area regularly.
If you need to clean the large basin, be sure to hold onto the upper portion or take them out first. If you don't it will tip over
I suggest you attach the feeder hose to the pump first and work the tube up to the upper spillway. If you don't you will end up with too short of tube and the pump with sit funny unless you use rock (it does not come with any like the photo shows)
The solar unit is another story. It does say needs direct sunlight to run, so any clouds will stop the unit from running. Bummer.
I replaced the solar unit with a JEBAC Fountain Pump #PP333LV LED 66gph (Amazon).
It is a nice little fountain (about 24" high) and has a nice trickle sound.
