This is a lot stronger than the pick ups 30 years ago. It can telescope from the top of the Jeep to the axle, which is nice, because when you've lost a bolt from a pulley, you can fish around and it will find it when you get it in the general area of where it landed...you don't have to make direct contact with the bolt itself. Its so slim, you can get it in any area, so, yeah...the magnetic properties and size of this mighty little dude are awesome!
