Great light for dining room

Nice looking lamp. Gives off alot of light. The dimmer didn't work on mine, but I think it's my old dimmer switch, which I will be changing out. LED bulbs work great in this lamp, and the styling is modern and rustic. If you like the style then buy it!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

IN A NUTSHELL
Beautiful chandelier, but thoughtless packaging means you have a good chance of getting a cracked unit. Nonetheless, it's fixable and I would buy again.
EXPLANATION
On the first chandelier I received, all 4 spokes on the top of the metal frame had snapped apart, making the chandelier unhangable. I thought it was a fluke, so I contacted Amazon and a replacement was sent. Unfortunately, this one was also snapped in the exact same location. Looking through the reviews on Amazon and other websites, I saw other customers had the same problem. I realized the reason for the snapping was improper packaging from Canarm. The metal frame is a couple inches taller than the fabric drum, so in the box, there is a 2 inch gap between the top of the drum and the top of the frame. There should be a piece of styrofoam between the two to cushion the top of the frame, but apparently that obvious solution escaped Canarm. As a result, stacking anything on top of the box (which definitely happens when shipping) would easily cause the top of the metal frame to snap. After realizing this, I concluded it made little sense to request a third chandelier because it would likely be snapped. Exhausted by our chandelier search, we took a discount for the damaged chandelier from Amazon and decided to try to fix the frame.
To repair the frame, we first tried soldering. This worked temporarily, but the metal did not solder like typical metal, and it re-snapped when we tried to install the chandelier. We then tried epoxy glue, and this worked, so that's our recommendation for fixing the snaps (see second photo). I should also note that as long as all 4 spokes are not cracked, you can probably hang the lamp without fixing the frame as the weight of the lamp is supported through the central rod that runs the height of the lamp. That being said, we felt unsafe without fixing the snapped spokes. Once fixed, installation was relatively straightforward and took a few hours.
SO, after all that hassle what do I think of the actual chandelier? The chandelier is absolutely lovely and I'm really glad we decided to keep it. The metal frame lends a traditional feel to the chandelier, while the fabric drum and overlapping curved design of the frame modernize it, yielding a great transitional piece. I originally considered the Troy 28954967 Five Light Silver Gold Drum Shade Pendant, but this is an excellent and drastically more affordable alternative. In terms of lighting, 3 bulbs was sufficient light for our space and the fabric shade and glass diffuser softened the light. Some people commented that the chandelier was bigger than expected, but it was a great size for our space. Tip: To help determine an appropriate chandelier size, add the length and width of your space and covert to inches. Our room is ~10x14 ft, so it could carry up to a 24" diameter chandelier. This 20.5" chandelier fit perfectly. We paired the chandelier with 3 Kobi Electric K0M9 15-watt (75-Watt) A19 LED 4000K Neutral White Light Bulb, Dimmable (chose neutral 4000k because 2700-3000 soft white feels too dim and yellow to me, but 5000k daylight is too harsh for a dining room), and 2gig WD500Z-1 Z-Wave Wall Dimmer (White) . Everything works seamlessly.
Overall, this chandelier was a bit of a hassle, but I'm glad we stuck with it. It fits our space well and looks far more expensive than the ~$100 we spent.on it. 5 stars for the lamp, -2 stars for the packaging defect and subsequent hassle.
