I have one of the original keurigs and these filters fit perfectly. It's almost impossible to tell apart from the name brand filters. The black stuff that some are complaining about is residual charcoal powder as this is a charcoal filter. That's why there are instructions to soak the filter before use. I'll include a picture of the packaging and my model of keurig as I don't know which one it is and I don't know if there are different sizes of filters used for different models.
Cheaper than Keurig brand but sizing issues

This is my second replacement order from Amazon for Keurig replacement filters for my coffee machine. I try to remember to change out the filter every 2 or 3 months. This batch of filters is significantly larger than first batch I received from Amazon. It fits well into the filter attachment so this batch seems better than first batch I received over a year ago. I do follow the Keurig directions for breaking in a new filter. I was alarmed at the dark charcoal color in the water (see picture). But, after generous rinsing the filter under faucet and replacement into a fresh glass of water, I saw no charcoal residue. I had one of the first batch filters for comparison with newer batch (top old filter, bottom new filter). I have no clue if these work efficiently in purifying the water but our coffee always tastes good. I am giving the filters 4 stars only because of the sizing issue.
great so far

We have a coffee machine that requires these and the normal place I buy them from are a lot more expensive. I'm using one of these right now and it fits perfect. Although I would not really know for sure if it does or doesn't remove the impurities that interfere with the taste because, it's a filter and well, I don't think it would change the taste of my coffee. I put a lot of creamer in my coffee anyway. So much, that it's more like "a little coffee with my creamer." goin on...lol
You get 6 individually wrapped replacement water filters for Keurig brewers that were purchased after 2007, which include the following:
lite, classic, ultra, special edition, ultimate, select and platinum.
So, if you bought one after that, you are totally in luck.
How to install:
"¢place a cartridge into the water filter assembly and insert into your water reservoir
They were delivered to my mail box, in my regular mail.
They seem to be fine. If anything turns out differently on down the line, I will come back to update my review.
"¢i did NOT receive this product at a discount nor for free. i was not influenced by anyone in anyway.
Great quality, best price - perfect!

These are the same size as the original filter included with the brewer. In fact, they seem to have more charcoal than the original because they are less squishy. I notice no difference in water quality after filtering compared to the original. In fact, I'd say the water tastes a bit fresher except I don't know if that's just because the water through any new filter would taste better than water through a used up filter! I have included a picture to show, from left to right: 1) one of these filters installed in the holder, 2) one of these filters as it cam in the individual packaging (on top) with the original filter that came with the brewer (on the bottom), and 3) the bag containing the individually packaged filters as it came from the shipper. It was so much cheaper to buy the filters this way than any other way I've found. I would buy definitely buy these again!
Fits smaller than Keurig brand filter

Perfect for Keurig one cup coffeemaker. Reasonably priced too!....I use purified water in my coffeemaker. When I saw the price of these at the store...I just took the old one out & used my purified water in the maker, which is not recommended...Now I can change them more often...Will definitely be buying again!
Update Jan-2016...Apparently the charcoal inside breaks down after a while...I purchased a few packs of these and still using them...Because I use filtered water, I only change once a month....the last 3 I used I had horrible taste in coffee. I took out the filter & kept cleaning the coffeemaker with vinegar...Nothing stopped it...I took the filter container and tapped it in my sink...black water came out... . Do I recommend this filter anymore...NO....Use filtered water in your Coffeemaker & clean it more often....
