AMAZINGLY BRIGHT
MW✓ Verified Purchase•August 19, 2023
This light is F*&^in amazing!!!. I tried it on the low setting on a local trail and I could see fine. The high setting is mainly for tight corners, hills and rough, dark trails. The visibility infront of you is like 40 feet. Also, you can see everything around you. It shoots out a 10-15 foot wide beam of light and it's honestly better than some car lights. For $300, it's definetely worth it and you will never have to buy another light again. Only problem is I think they should include 2 batteries in the kit as it doesn't last very long when using the high setting. Very durable plastic, rubber and metal parts and sits on the handlebar securely. When I first tried the flash in my room, I almost went blind and the beacon as well. ---------------NO CONS-----------------
Omg so bright...great customer service..!!!

Omg it's bright..!!!!i commute to work at 4am at the dark and at night 10pm at dark 45min each way... The NR 1800 I used it on the handle bar and I have the lumia 700 on my helmet..
My first set the battery only last 1 hour at full power so I was des appointed ..I call niterider...then they send me a new one and resend back mine ..the NR 1800 that they send me is 2012 model and the light is yellowish color and it's flicking...so I call them back they said just replace the battery and keep your original light...now it last 1:20min on full power...
After 1 month the 2012 battery only last 1hour again...!!!
I called the NR again ask them if that's normal that there battery quality and performance ... They told me that they will gonna send me another NR1800 unit and make sure it's 2013 model.....
The light is bright and the customer service is great...so If you ordered yours online u don't call the amazon just call NR help line and they will replace it...
So far I'm happy with the light and performance but the battery has ok quality ....
Edit:
After second replacement the light finally last 1:35min

Works great...but uncomfortably heavy on my helmet.

I give this product five stars for design-it works exactly as the company says it does. The light is bright enough to see by even in the dark with no streetlights, and the battery is long lasting.
But a limitation is in the technology, which, at least for now needs to be fairly heavy in order to provide this amount of light. I put the battery pack in my jersey pocket and only the lamp on my helmet, but yet after a two-hour ride it was uncomfortably heavy on my head.
I have an older NiteRider system (much less bright) and can put both the battery pack and the lamp on my head without discomfort.
The system can be mounted on handlebars but I don't like that because I prefer the beam angled downwards and movable depending on where I look. Also I don't want the clip on the bars when I'm not using the system.
So, overall, I would say this is a great system that works well. But if you are like me and prefer a helmet mount, I would suggest getting one of the less powerful but lighter-weight NiteRiders.
PROS:
Nice bright light--the brightest I've ever seen on any bicycle system
Convenient charging in an outlet
Choice of helmet mount or handlebar mount
Well-built, good quality product
CONS:
For me, at least, the item is so heavy on my head it's too uncomfortable to use this way.

This light is awesome! It's very well thought out. The multiple brightness levels are helpful on long rides. The included helmet mount is very good as well. I would make a suggestion to NiteRide. Make a mounting bracket to fit where the water bottle would go. Ideally the hook and loop would not go around the bike frame. We pay a pile of money for these bikes. I don't want a tube marked up or worn from where battery mounts on the frame with hook and loop. Add the battery mount, 5-stars all the way.

All I can say, this think is AWESOME! This is like the LED bar on my truck. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration but this thing is very, very bright. After extended uses, it's very practical. One thing to dink it for. Lining up the connectors is a hassle. A change in their mold can make it easier to align those two parts.

No brainer- Best MTB light period.

Expert trail/downhill - MTBR 30 years. Extensive night riding experience.
Re the gentleman that stated "not 1800 lumens?!?" This light has been test by every pro blog/ site/ magazine etc., and it has always measure at or above 1800. NiteRider caters to the pro that would not stand for BS ratings. The light is every bit 1800 lumens.
If you are riding on the street, a light like this will not seem as bright as a spot type light. Most cheap lights use modified spots to make their light look brighter than it is. This light is spreading it's bean evenly in a wide, but penetrating pattern. There is beautiful engineering here. Regarding the use for commuting or other street use, I would say this light seems a bit over kill for that considering it's weight and build strength.
For off road, it is unmatched. This is a high quality "trail" flood beam and it is pure perfection. The beam spread and penetration works seamless technical as well as fire road bombs. Where I live, critters, large and small come out at night, so this type of light is very welcome as well.
Re brightness, there are monster lights out there with more light like the Niterider 2800 and 3400, but as you can see in any pro review, serious riders don't like these mega lights. They are over kill, and worse not useful. We have come to the point were more is not more. The quality and clarity of the light pattern is what makes a great light. The 1800 has amazing penetration without blowing out the ground in front of me. The light floods the landscape with usable detail where you need it. On the trail I rarely go to 5. mostly 3 and 4. It's hard for new night riders to understand that too much light can wash out the terrain and kill your night vision. That said, this is still an amazingly crazy bright light! Can easily light up every inch of one acre.
If you look at all the details big and small, you can see that this light was made with love. Everything is perfectly where it should be. In every category this light is #1: Best mount, best controls, best status lights, best battery case , best cord and connectors, and best design. If you have seen my other 100+ reviews, you know that I rarely, if ever, give this type of high praise. For off road, look no farther. Honors A+! Long live the king!
