I own a ClearStream V2 so I thought I was upgrading when I ordered the 4. When it arrived I took my VHF Rod off the V2 and put it on the 4 and put it up. I lost a lot of channels! I tried many different directions and moved it in different spots but it still did not work nearly as good as the V2. I ended up putting the VHF Rod back on the V2 and putting it back up. It gets about 40 clear wonderful channels. I don't know what it is with a 4 but it was a big disappointment. I told antennas direct I was disappointed but I guess because it was refurbished they did not offer to take it back. So I'm stuck with an antenna that really did not work for me. I would suggest if you want a great antenna go with V2. I also sprung the $80 for the Juice. Works better without it. Both are laying in a box.

I live about 60 miles from broadcast stations in a small town. I checked for the best antenna on the internet. I found the best reviews and checked the pros and the cons and found ClearStream 4 Antenna with mount was my choice. I bought also to go with it was a Winegard LNA-200 Boost XL Digital HDTV Preamplifier to boost the signal. I hook it up 30 ft up on my garage and ran outside shielded coax cable to it. I used a short coax cable I had in the house to connect to the Winegard preamplifier. From the preamplifier I ran to the Extreme 1Ghz splitter to 2 TV's one for my Gazebo and the shop.
Make sure your TV's are 2010 and above and have a tuner on them to pick up digital. 2009 and below are analog TV's, with them you have to have a converter box to convert to digital. I use the tuner on both TV's and got only 3 stations clear during the day and 5 at night. So I bought the VHF Retrofit kit that attaches to the ClearStream 4 on top. The kit was simple and I attach it and did the tuner on both TV's and it was less than before. I then switch the wires from the ClearStream, kit and preamplifier and it was better not good. I did this for two days and couldn't figure it out and then I notice the coax cable that came with the VHF Retrofit Kit had a longer wire that stuck out of the cable and the one I had did not. I bought this short cable from Walmart and realized this cable is for indoors and not shielded. You have to have 2 short coax cables to hookup both antennas and Winegard preamplifier.
Bingo! I search in my shop for another short shielded coax cable with wire sticking out of it and found one. I hook it up during the day time and got 11 channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX) that's amazing. Can't wait tonight to see how more channels I get. Lesson learned the right cable makes the different. Sometimes it's not the unit you buy it's the people that hook it up lol. I'm laughing now but I wasn't then. I'm extremely pleased with ClearStream 4 and recommended with Winegard LNA-200 Boost XL Digital HDTV Preamplifier to boost the signal if you live way out like me.

I seldom write a review and hate to leave negative feed back on this item because I feel it may work well for others. However, it did not work for me at all. I purchased this antenna because of the positive reviews and it stated it worked in difficult areas. I live in a very difficult area, yet only about 60 miles from 12 broadcasting stations. This antenna delivered 0 channels even with a signal amplifier connected. I re-adjusted the direction many times and still no results. I was hoping it would do better than the previous antenna I purchased for a much lower cost which I currently receive 8 channels. My RV sitting in the driveway receives 40 channels on its digital antenna. Go figure. The clear stream 4 antenna was a total loss for me.

Ok I started having trouble with a rational type antenna, total loss of picture intermittently. I mounted this new unit 6 feet over the roof and picked up another 10 stations (I did not use the supplied mount). I don't know how much different another antenna would be since I only mounted this one in the best spot on my roof but have read there is not that much difference between any HD antenna. Obviously did not trust the no difference between antenna types by buying this one. I used a chain link fence top pipe (10 foot) from the hardware store to mount it with Channel Master CM-9030 eave kit, I did not want to run screws into my shingle roof. I use a 4 Port Cable TV/HDTV/Digital Amplifier PCT-MA1015-4PN to send the signal to 3 TVs and a Tablo recorder. I only have 50' of coax before the 4 port unit so I use no preamp.

I put this antenna on the roof with a directional antenna motor and WOW! good by cable TV. I live in Connecticut and get stations as far as NY, NJ and MA I get a total of about 58 stations in all. This antenna is a great design for the New England area unlike other antennas with long tubes that catch wind and can get a heavy coat of ice and break. I bought the motor from Amazon as well and I highly recommend you get one if your going to place it on your roof just a little move North or south can bring in a weak station, most of the CT station come from the ENE at 57degress for me however I need to rotate the antenna SW at about 225 degrees to get NY, NJ. There are several good Web sites that can tell you what stations you will pick up in your area. Only one draw back with this antenna it's strictly UHF I have two close VHF stations and it works fine for me and if you need to get channel 2 I don't think this antenna go that low, I get 3.1 up to 67.3.
