REED meter should NOT be your Choice!

The REED moisture meter cost $62.43. It has an LCD bar readout instead of a numeric LED readout. That results in two major defects with this product:1) It is extremely difficult to determine exactly what moisture reading it shows, and 2) it simply CANNOT be read under cabinetry or any other area where you are not able to look down directly on the meter, and you cannot read it in low light environments, even if you are looking directly down on it.
For less that half the price, we next bought a General Tools Model MMD4E moisture meter for $29.98. It has an LED digital numeric readout that is easy and accurate to read in any situation, and it has a "hold" button if you desire to leave the reading on the display after you remove the meter from the location being read. A simply brilliant design.
If we could return the REED meter and get our money back, we would do so.

Seems be acurate. Does not have a hold feature. So if you can't see the screen you have no idea what the reading is. I have a requirement to photo the reading as well but the angle has to be perfect for the digital camera to pick up the LCD bars.
