I can't say enough how disappointed I am with these lighting fixtures
Amazon Customer✓ Verified Purchase•November 24, 2017
I can't say enough how disappointed I am with these lighting fixtures. The reason why I am so disappointed is because when I first got these lights I was extremely impressed with them. I liked them so much that I ended up buying 7 of them. I put them all around the house and they looked great. I was really impressed with how much light they projected and how sensitive the movement sensor was. But what was really more important to me, was that they work with batteries, there is no need to run wires and I thought I was going to be saving money on the electric bill. That was my thought process and the whole thought behind it. Just save money on electricity.
The problem that I am having now is that as soon the temperature outside hits below 40° Fahrenheit, they start to flicker and then they stay lit all night. The batteries get depleted really fast like this. It 's very frustrating. It is not one or two that are defective, it's all of them. The circuitry inside has a very obvious problem and that problem is that these lighting fixtures are not made to stand cold temperatures. They work well in the summer but they are not good in the winter.
Don't buy them if you live in a cold region, or you are going to have the same problem that I am having.

Great Initially , Then All Three Failed in the Same Fashion

Today is January 7, 2017. Initially these lights worked great, and had I posted a review then I would have posted five stars. I am sorry to have to give them one star but unfortunately all three of the lights failed and in the same exact fashion. First the motion failed to work and the lights would remain on constantly. Then they failed to work at all. I checked the batteries and tested the batteries. The batteries were not the issue. I purchased brand new Duracell Batteries and still nothing is working. These lights were used in a dry area where there was no rain or significant moisture. The temperatures here never go below about 65F. I like the concept of the lights and initially they worked perfectly. Unfortunately they don't last very long. In my case I think they are too pricey to have such a short life span.
Buyer better read this first !

Okay, so one by one they quit working. So, I thought, they need new batteries. When I opened the first one, water poured out ! All five that I had up had water in them ! Did the manufacturer think it wasn't going to rain on them ? The inside contacts were corroded because of water ! Well a picture is worth a thousand words.
do just fine. But mine are not working
Phil McKrevice✓ Verified Purchase•May 1, 2016
I purchased 9 of these lights. Out of those 9 lights, 6 let in a substantial amount of rain water, even a light that is hidden and rarely gets rained on let in enough to permanently damage it. So I am stuck with 6 lights that when working...do just fine. But mine are not working. The quality just isn't there. The weather seals they use just don't do a good enough job in keeping the rain out.
So when you mount these, put some duct tape around the seal after you put in the batteries and twist it to the locked position. That will probably seal the thing right and you won't have to worry about them getting damaged by water. This is what I would have done if I would have known that they leaked. But woulda coulda shoulda I guess.
Or put them in an area where they won't get wet all that much if at all.
Good luck.

Inside a closet
Jackie Rose✓ Verified Purchase•August 3, 2015
Installed inside a closet. We mounted it above the door, near the ceiling, and pointed it down. The sensor catches movement when the door is about 1/3 of the way open and lights up the entire closet! It's actually a bit overkill in terms of lumens, but I knew that the space was awkward and a lot of the light would be blocked by the top shelf. Having the adjustable mount meant it could be installed where I wanted it, unlike the traditional puck style light which would have needed to be on the side wall or ceiling in order to catch movement and that would not have been able to light up each shelf area.Maybe not your traditional use, but this was way more economical than installing a switch light and it works perfectly.
