This really works as promised! Excellent product for those who wake up much easier with sunlight.

I was pretty skeptical, but this Sunrise Light works. Because of outdoor lights, I have blackout curtains on my bedroom windows, in order to sleep properly. Mornings were dreadful, I just could not wake up. I also know that in the winter I have more trouble because of my lack of sun ( I also work in an interior office, have to walk a distance to get to real sunlight.)
This works. In spite of what some reviews say, Yes, it can be set to be completely 'off' at night. You set the time you want to arise, you can even set how long you want 'this' sun to rise, quickly or slowly. It comes on slowly, hits brightest at the time you set, and at that time your choice of wakeup sounds start. I cannot speak to the 'sun going down' feature, I have no need of it. Yes, the buttons are almost invisible and even not easy to find by touch, but really, it's not that big a deal. It's actually very easy to change the alarm time.

Its ok, but I would not recommend it.
There is definately a learning curve and an angry one at that.
The buttons are small and NOT intuitive.
It would be best to practice with it for a good half hour to an hour , learning how to hit the snooze button and how to turn off the alarm.
It stopped using it the first week and had to take the time to learn the following weekend and the second week was hit or miss (literally).
The 3rd week, I've got it down. An alarm clock should not be this hard to use.
I mean it works as designed and I wake up much easier but how hard is it to:
1- make the back-end, a square, not easy to knock over?
2- make the snooze button the largest button and most accessible?
The idea is good, but the designer needs to be dragged out and tarred and feathered!
Philips HIRE A DESIGNER AND ENGINEER THAT HAVE CREATED ALARM CLOCKS.
Obviously your team only knows only about lights.
Very Good With A Few Minor Issues

Looks good and functions very well. It will take a while to see if it is effective but that isn't relevant to the product review. There are a few things that would make this 5 stars:

1. Battery backup so that the time isn't lost if power goes out. The rest of the settings (alarms, wake-up sound, etc) are saved but not the time.
2. Ability to turn off the clock display completely. The lowest setting is very dim and it doesn't bother me, but the menu buttons light up when your hand gets near them and then turn off after a few seconds - the clock should be able to do the same thing.
3. Ability to have the alarm automatically turned on daily instead of having to turn it on every night. I use alarm 1 as my weekday alarm and alarm 2 as my weekend alarm but I have to remember to turn it on at night.

A few "wishlist" items that I would pay extra for:

1. Bluetooth speaker functionality to save me some extra space on my night stand.
2. Connected phone app to control the settings and allow for a more advanced alarm schedule.
Can't turn it off!!!!

CONS:
- Tiny buttons that are hard to figure out/ remember via muscle memory, scattered on the sides of the device
- No easy way to run off the light (alarm)!!!!! unless you grope around the device trying to find the Alarm on/off button nestled inconveniently adjacent to the other miniature buttons. Workaround: I've plugged it into an outlet that I use a wall-switch to cycle the Light(alarm) after I've gotten out of bed. Annoying!!!!

PROS:
- More pleasant to wake up to a lit room and the sound of birds than any other way of waking up early before sunrise.

I was really skeptical about this product but my wife wanted to try it. I have to say that I am a believer. We have tried to the sunset feature to try to go to bed and I am really not a fan of that. However, the sunset feature is amazing. I hated waking up to the sound of the alarm clock. Now with the sunrise it slowly wakes me up and it is such a better feeling to be eased awake. I don't use the bird sounds as part of the alarm as the light is enough to wake me up everytime. However, my wife is a little bit of a deeper sleeper and sometimes she would sleep through the light alone.
