This holds water great when needed and is SIMPLE to install. Just drop it in. It also covers the metal trim that is around the tub drain now that has been discolored most likely from using the wrong type of cleaners...... It looks like a permanent fixture, shiny and new. I have long hair and I am assuming that this wont get ALL of them but I do take it out and pull of the hairs without any trouble. When I take a shower, I like to have some water in the bottom of the tub to "soak" my feet. This makes it much easier for me to remove the dead skin after showering. This is easy to use by just touching it with your foot to open or close the drain, no bending over. My tub's drain does have the metal cross bars. This fits perfectly and the price is excellent.

It fit right over my existing tub drain that did not have cross pieces in the drain. It includes 2 rubber gaskets for best fit. Installation took maybe 10 seconds. You can use plumber's putty to secure it better-I did not need to. I like that I can just lift it out to clean around it. Gonna' buy me a spare.

We bought a house that didn't have a stopper for the bath tub. After trying several products from local stores that didn't fit our drain, I found this. The benefit is that it doesn't have to be screwed into the drain. It comes with a variety of gaskets to customize the fit to your drain diameter. It works very well, and even catches hair to reduce drain clogs. My only complaint is that it seems to dull quickly from soap and shampoo "scum." It takes more than just a quick wipe to clean it off.
Overall, I'm very happy with the function, but I'm a little lazy and wish it were easier to keep clean.
