Rustic box with enough of a challenge for any teen or adult. Two drawers are plus though both are small

I had my doubts after reading reviews. Wood was tightly constructed. I admit, I had to go to youtube for directions. Even then, it was too tight. I'm in Arizona so humidity wasn't a problem. So I used an xacto type razor to ensure there was no glue in tracks. Very tight had to work it through seam a few times. Still tight so searched for other seems and repeated with xacto blade. youtube did have this box so I knew which direction drawers opened. So I worked those seams. I finally got small drawer to move and worked it loose. All this just to open it to put a gift inside. It was still too tight to repeat fairly easy. So I got fine sandpaper and went to work on edges. Works like a charm. Meaning I left it tight enough all parts come out with just a little effort. Exterior was tight enough not to see obvious method to open. Gift is for 18 yr old and he'll still have to work for it since this one doesn't come with directions. I know, youtube will be first place he'll check.

Nice design, the only issue is that the wood contains several split off pieces that could cause splinters and the locking mechanisms are noticeably different from the other pieces of the box. Since there is two compartments, there's quite a bit of storage room as well as a somewhat more protected drawer (the larger one).
Update as of 8/20/17:
The larger compartment had a piece of the drawer break off after very minimal use within a month of purchase. I wouldn't suggest this product due to the poor craftsmanship.

Great gift for young boy

Great gift for young boy, we put his long awaited fitbit in it for his birthday. A bit stiff at first to open, but after a few times our 8 year old can do with ease. Needed a bit of help to figure it out initially, but now he has a safe place to keep things from his younger siblings.
Spend the extra 5 bucks on the better model!

The fit and finish of this product really detracts from this item. The fact that the would is not evenly stained reveals hints about how my box was supposed to be solved. The glue was dollopped on their and then left to dry so the box wasn't openable. I was able to fix with this very little dremel work.

The product was amazing. I wouldn't suggest it to people like me who give away secrets because they want everyone to see how amazing it is. That just gets rid of the secret part. Opening it the first time was difficult because it was stiff, but after loosening it with a knife and pliers, it worked perfectly. One of the peices snapped off when I used the pliers, but I was able to superglue it back on easily. It has worked ever since, and the superglue holds up perfectly. One thing left to say: Great Product!
