Our Allergist recommended Mission: Allergy pillow and mattress covers - even though his office sells another brand! They are pricey, but very high quality AND washable.
It's an investment, but both my son and husband have bad allergies to dust mites, so these covers are necessary for them to get good, restful sleep.

Many years ago my allergist recommended this brand of mattress and pillow protectors to me, and I haven't gone without them since!
