Errors after 4 years, and replacement scale had same error
S. Holly✓ Verified Purchase•February 10, 2018
I've got a weird issue with this scale. I bought it 4 years ago and it worked exactly as advertised. I am only one person, so I can't say how it works for tracking multiple weights. But for me, it worked consistently and as I expected. I was very happy with it. The batteries were very long lasting - I think I only replaced them once during those 4 years. I have a small bathroom, so I have to store it upright next to the sink. When I lay it down to use it, I put it on the exact same floor tile for consistency, tap my toe on it to calibrate it to zero (it usually goes to some small weight like 3 or 4 lbs. at first before zeroing out) and then weight myself. Easy.
Around the 4 year mark, I would step on the scale to calibrate it, and it started to bounce between the number 1 (for set the first person's weight entry), flashing, and then the zeroed out weight, flashing, and then back to 1. Nothing you did would get it out of that setting except for letting it run its course for a minute or two. Then it would zero out and shut off. I would step on the scale and it would give me weight, but it would not compare to the old weight - it just showed my weight and when I stepped off, it shut off. I naturally figured it was the batteries. I put in a brand new set. Same exact thing. Except it was intermittent. One day it would work properly, the next day it wouldn't. No rhyme or reason. I figured hey, the scale is 4+ years old, maybe it just finally broke. I loved the scale so much (when it worked) that I bought the same exact one again. It arrived, and right out of the box it had the EXACT same issue with the flashing 1 and not holding the weight. I think once it worked exactly as expected, but most of the time it did that. I ended up returning the second one and am now waiting for delivery of an entirely different scale.
It's unfortunate since I would have given the original scale a 5 star review as I loved it so much. And I'm not even angry that it lasted only 4 years - that's pretty good in technology years these days. But with the same model having the same problem, I'm not sure what to make of it now and if it's a good value. So that's why I'm rating it 3 stars now. It cost half what my original (same) scale cost, so might be worth a try because when it works well, it's awesome.

That's great..

I bought this in 2013, and the batteries have lasted and are still working in 2018. That's great...and I loved the feature where you could put different users and track your weight loss/gain everytime you use it. HOWEVER...I recently noticed that it was way off compared to the doctors scale that I've been weighed on every month. So I tried it again yesterday morning, it said 211.2 lbs, and I thought "Wow! I'm down 5 pounds from the last time I checked!" But then later that SAME evening, I thought to myself that I wanted to see if it would still register the same weight in the same day (just to see how accurate it was) and it said 216 lbs! I hadn't drank anything crazy, or eaten barely anything that day, and it said I was 5 pounds heavier than I was that morning. I'm really disappointed, I don't know what to do with it now other than throw it away.
Not accurate at all

The scale is not really accurate. I am a Weight Watcher & weigh on my scale & I have to weigh in regularly. The first time I got on the scale, same time of day as usual, wearing what I usually wear, I was up 4 lbs. I thought to myself, that can't be I have done nothing to be up that much. So I got on again & immediately LOST 4 lbs. So every time I weigh it is up the first time, I get back on & it is down.
I bought the scale because it had good reviews, my scale has not met those ratings.
FOLLOW UP. After my review I got a response from EatSmart products & they told me how to correct the problem, it now works GREAT!
If anyone has a similar problem here is how they told me to reset my scale.
1. Remove the battery from the scale.
2. Set the scale on the floor (no carpet) without the battery in place.
3. Stand on the scale for 10 seconds (still without the battery).
4. Carefully replace the battery without pressing any buttons or activating the scale.
5. Set the scale on the floor (no carpet) with the battery in place.
6. Using only one foot, tap the scale or apply just enough pressure to turn on the display. IMMEDIATELY REMOVE YOUR FOOT. (It should show dashes or zeroes)
7. Let the scale turn off.
8. Step on the scale for a weight reading

Not meant to be moved. Not instant readings.
Sweat✓ Verified Purchase•January 20, 2017
This scale is meant to put in one place and not be moved. If you pick it up and move it, it reads usually 3-5 lbs light. You have to step on it to recalibrate, and it's not instant. It takes a couple minutes to be ready again. When you step on the scale it gives you a reading and if you want to step on it again to confirm, it doesn't give you another reading. It goes through a program that flashes through your previous weights. It takes a minute or so to cycle through before it shuts off. If you step on it before it's done it won't give you your weight. You have to wait until it shuts off, then you can step on it again. It's a lengthy process.
Lousy Over-Rated Scale
Nicholas Swan✓ Verified Purchase•September 7, 2016
This is the most unreliable scale that I have ever owned! I bought it because it is rated in the top 10 for best scales of 2016.
THe weight flucates every time I step on it. I always weighh myself in the same place, time of day, and with the same amount of clothing.
This has caused a great deal of frustration as I have no idea what the correct weight is. It will flucuate up to 6 pounds.
