Do It For LOVE !!!. This Dog bed is EXTRAORDINARY so stay with me here. Over 1500 very positive reviews are correct but I will be critical and honest while telling my story. I have a 74 lb. Labradoodle since 6 weeks old. She tore up most of her beds as a puppy, Finally I made a cheep bed better by stuffing extra 2 inch memory foam into it. It worked but now that she is over 8 yrs.old, that bed has seen it's better days. She "Taffy" deserved better now that she is older. This purchase made complete sense.
I bought the "SLEEK" edition for a couple reasons. First is that the bed is reversible meaning it can be flipped which extends the life of the bed which may or may not be necessary. Secondly, it will double the time before having to wash the cover. Taffy has always slept with a human pillow so I figured this was the logical choice and it saves some money and allows her to sleep like a human as she always has.
Now for the PRO's and CON's:

POSITIVES
1) The bed is odor-free upon arrival.
2) The quality memory foam is beyond superb.
3) The cover is thick, soft and beyond expectations.
4) It's made in the USA!!!

So, perfection right? Well, almost. I'm not sure perfection exists anymore with anything.
NEGATIVES
1) The cover zipper could be slightly more heavy duty.
2) Edge of foam on one of the short sides is half inch short.

These negatives are minor for sure but for a bed this expensive I want to be honest with my evaluation.

Taffy took to her new bed right away. I put her pillow on it and her sheet over the cover her first night so it would be familiar. This bed is 6 inches longer and 3 inches wider than her old bed. She stretched out and did not move till morning, truly amazing!!! Knowing my dog is spending 8 hours.... (33%) of each day on the highest quality bed made for her is beyond priceless. I have given up a lobster dinner for me along with my significant other and I'd do it again but doubt I will ever have to! If you cherish your dog just do it. Get this bed ... your dog will know it is loved.

OVERALL QUALITY: My 105lb Rottweiler has flattened all the standard "dog beds" we have purchased him. Not this one. This mattress is so amazingly strong that it barely budges against all 105lbs. That's impressive. Its firm, yet soft at the same time and appears to provide just enough support! The cover is very high quality material - not flimsy. It stays surprisingly COOL under him too, which is important because of his double-coat - Maximus tends to run hot. I cannot emphasize how impressive the overall quality of this product is! Even the zipper is top quality. I have two family members who have seen this bed and have already commited to buying it for their own fur baby. All someone has to do is SEE this bed and they're instantly sold - its that good.

WARRANTY: The warranty is ridiculous! Who gives a 10 year warranty? A company that is 100% confident their product is top of the line.

SLEEPING LIKE A BABY: Maximus is very particular ... about almost everything. I thought it would take him days, weeks even to accept the bed. Wrong! It took him about 5 minutes to love the bed, the time it took for him to sniff it out completely. Tip: Wash the cover in cold water with fragrance free detergent and no softeners of any kind. I dried it for 5 min. on low heat and then hung it on the clothes line until dry and fresh. I did not have to train him at all, bribe him or even lay on it with him.

THE VALUE: Yes its a lot of $$. But worth every cent. Add up every cheap bed you've ever bought and will buy for your pet and it will probably be more than the purchase of Big Barker. Its an investment for drama-free sleep AND the health of your pet. My boy has moderate hip displaysia and this will help him tremendously.

Lastly ... ITS MADE IN THE U.S.A.!! Well, that explains the quality, because I couldn't get this from an item made overseas or across the border. Buy the bed ... you wont' regret it.

While this dog bed was a bit pricey, I have spent much more over the years for inferior beds. This is the bed for my dog who is now 11 years old
and clearly needs firm support. I decided to go a little larger then needed because he likes to stretch out. It did not have a slip resistant bottom
so I was concerned about it on hardwood floors, but it doesn't move. It took a few nights for him to fully enjoy the bed. Now he is not constantly
moving around the room anymore. That's impressive, means we both get good night sleep!
Since he gets hot easily, even in winter, I put a cotton sheet over the bed as I think the microfiber fabric can get to warm for him. Plus, it keeps the cover cleaner.
The bed arrived vacuumed sealed, in perfect condition, no ordors and with a nice cover which is easily removable.
You won't be disappointed buying this for you best friend.

This is the second Big Barker bed we have bought; not because there is anything wrong with the first one; Brewtus' youinger sister, Scarlett, stole his. Brewtus is a 110lb. 4 year old German shepherd and Scarlett is a 70lb., year old German shepherd.

Brewtus was known to have problems getting up after laying for long periods of time. You should see him since we got him the Big Barker Bed! He acts just like a puppy! His little sister is having a hard time keeping up with him. I whole heartedly believe it is because the bed relieves his hip and joint pain. The bed may be a bit more expensive but it pays for itself in longevity; no more replacing a flattened, useless bed every 6 months. The quality is impeccable and the follow-up with customer service is top-notch. Hands down, this is the best dog bed I have ever owned.

My 88lb Chocolate Labradoodle took one look at his Big Barker bed and settled right down on it. He had surgery to remove a cyst earlier in the day and it's great to see him sleeping comfortably.

There was no smell at all, and the bed is clearly well-made, Glad it is made in America! Wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

HOWEVER - no liner comes with the bed and now I have to spend another $69 to buy a waterproof liner. The cover that comes with it is NOT waterproof, which it should be, and I know the bed will soon be stinky if I don't spend even more money on it.
