Cheap blank discs tend to make more coasters than serve as reliable storage devices for important files. I tend to import and buy the more expensive discs from Japan because I don't have time to find out I have had a bad burn.

These discs are a good value cost-wise and I have had no coasters on my first 5 burns.
There are 20 more blanks to try on this spindle. I hope to re-order this brand if I make it through the spindle with no coasters.

I don't know about longevity. I have never had a disc of any brand that failed after a good burn. I have discs I burned 20 years ago that won't read on my newer reader, but the discs still work on my oldest readers. If I remember, I will update this review in 20 years. (haha)

For print quality, the top surface is a bit shinier than the expensive brand disc, thus making it slightly harder to label with a sharpie pen. But the marks are readable and tend not to rub off.

This is fantastic media. I believe that the OEM for this disc may be JVC, but I am unsure. The discs are thick and feel to be of high quality. Additionally, the edges are a bit slippery and hard to grasp when taking them out of the stack so they may be easier to drop/damage. That being said, I went through a 50 pack of these discs, burning at 2X, and I did not get a single coaster or issue. I have already ordered more of them as I have more movies to burn. Overall I cannot recommend this product enough if you are interested in archiving, or burning movies, etc.

Another thing to mention is I have two year old Verbatim BD-R 25GB discs and the Optical Quantum discs are thicker and higher quality. They also feel like they won't scratch as easily. I have burned over 100 discs and I have only had one disc that didn't burn properly and I believe that was an issue caused by the file I was burning, or the software, and not the disc.

I have been using the Optical Quantum brand for years - both the single and dual layer versions. These have never failed me. I have bought hundreds of these and never had an issue or a coaster. The issue that I did face were software related but never the discs. Yes, there are other brands out there but so much more expensive so these are great value for the money and are high quality in my opinion. They work great with our LG Blu-Ray drives.

I have used this brand for some time now and have never had a coaster. Will continue to use.

Is your writer HTL? SO far 20 disks burned flawlessly. I used IMGburn, No coasters yet, and I have been pushing the
25 gig limit. The order got to me in timely fassion, good packing, done deal. now I will be backing up all the junk on
old disks. I do allot of photogrophy, digital media since 1999. tons of cds/dvds stored in temperate dark closet, and reading all the stuff about data degradation, I am hoping mine will be ok...ask me in september and I will tell you what I found. DONT GET ME STARTED ON BURNERS...
