SATA/IDE adapter really works!
EBC•May 26, 2018
Absolutely awesome device! Was able to recover irreplaceable baby pics and other data from a 10 year old IDE drive. Fortunately my molex power port was at the opposite end of the drive interface from the data leads so this device fit perfectly. I can see per a previous review where the device wouldn't work if your molex power was in the middle of the interface end. The device is powered by an AC adapter which is much more reliable than a USB powered device. This device is great and I'm so grateful I was able to recover my data!
Excellent Product

This was a great purchase and saved me at least $100 because it enabled me to do some diagnostic work on my computer's hard drive myself and get data off of some older drives I thought I'd lost forever. It is very easy to use and I wish I had bought it sooner.

One of the best devices for PC to hard drive interfaces i ever bought. A few years ago my computer broke and i had no means of reading my hard drives at the time so i found this. I have used it for my hard drives ever since. Runs on household current it could read and process your hard drives directly into the PC using the USB cables provided. For those with 3.5 hard drives it comes with a 8 pin power adapter for you downloading needs. The price? Affordable to everyone who has too many hard drives but not know whats on them. In this, you can find what you lost, gain what you have, or start over again with the Cool Gear USB hard drive reading system.

Successfully retrieved hundreds of jpegs from two old hard drives...

I used this device to retrieve hundreds of jpegs from two old hard drives. One hard drive was from 2002, the other from 2005. The product worked flawlessly and I was very pleased with the results. Both hard drives were Maxtor ATA's, one 60GB and the other 80GB. The whole process was easy. I am no computer expert.... I would describe my level of computer experience as beginner/intermediate.
