I own a Fire Equipment company and this is literally the worst brand. I will never purchase them and I would recommend you go get a plastic head one at lowes over this one. These are all about how cheap they could make the product and no regard to quality
Head-Scratching Experience with Buckeye Customer Support

Ordered this because it was one of the lower priced rechargeable 3-A:40-B:C UL rated extinguishers I could find. Tried to research the company best I could. They seem to be a smaller player, they are an King's Mountain, NC company and their extinguishers are very proudly said to be MADE IN THE USA, they have not issued any major recalls that I could find, their extinguishers are covered by a warranty, and they have a cool looking logo.

My fire extinguisher arrived undented and fully charged, but it had a broken tamper seal. This is the plastic beaded cord that holds the pin in place, and that gets broken if you need to pull the pin to use the extinguisher--it was just lying in the bottom of the box.

So I called Buckeye customer support and asked for them to send me a new tamper seal. They asked if I ordered the extinguisher directly from them. I said I got it from Amazon, and they said I would have to contact Amazon then. When I told them that they were the manufacturer, and that surely this must be covered by their warranty (two years according to the paper that came with the extinguisher), they said that Amazon would have to make that claim.

I could not believe what they were saying. I was dumbfounded! These tamper seals are probably made from a nickel's worth of plastic, and I bet you could mail one with a single Forever Stamp in a regular envelope! As a fire extinguisher manufacturer, they probably have thousands lying around, and they say I have to go through Amazon before they will send one out to me? This is a brand new, $50 extinguisher that they manufactured, but apparently they cannot be bothered to spend $1 to cover a minor defect.

Amazon took care of the problem, of course. They really went above and beyond to take care of me, and did so on their own without contacting Buckeye. Amazon's response and Buckeye's response could not have been more different.

The extinguisher gets an extra star because the gauge says it is fully charged, and that of course is the most important thing in the event of a fire. Hopefully my experience with Buckeye will be better in that day, should that day ever come.
Worth the peace of mind

It arrived when it was promised. Haven't had to use it (thank goodness) but it looks good and is charged.
