The pierogis are very small. The maker was designed probably for babies. I would have never purchased the maker if I saw the real size of the pierogis.

I bought this to make russian pelmeni. I've found this difficult to use. The recipe on the packaging makes a very stretchy dough, and it keeps shrinking when I try to fill the pockets. I found it easier to roll dough in a log, cut off about an inch of dough and use a small roller to make a circle.
Pierogi keep opening up when you boil them

I was really excited about this produdt as I read using pierogi maker can really save you some time, and it did a little, but the pierogi opened up when I boiled them. The reason why, I think, is because the space between each half a circle is super tiny and so when you apply the second layer of dough on top of the filling, it doesn't allow for the pierogi to be completely sealed. Even when I pintched each individual one with my fingers, they still opened up, and at that point what's the point of buying a pierogi maker if you have to pinch them individually anyways. I still use it, but instead of boiling them for as much as they should be, I just keep them in the boiling water for about two minutes and when I notice that they're staring to open, I throw them in the pan and fry them.
