Considering price, ease of installation, and sound deadening, this is my favorite underlayment.
This underlayment does a good job of isolating the tile from the subfloor.
I've used this product for several remodeling jobs where I installed large-format tile over wood, gypcrete, and concrete subfloors. I have *never* had a cracked tile when I used this underlayment. That honestly surprises me, because I've encountered some pretty ratty subfloors that had caused significant cracking in the old tiles.
This underlayment also has the best sound-isolation of any that I've tried. I often install tile on second-floor condominiums with wood framing, and this underlayment gives better sound isolation to the downstairs unit than competing sound-isolating underlayments made of foam or plastic. (Advice for people shopping for sound-isolating underlayment: don't believe manufacturer's claims; they're generally just marketing babble.)

Perfect Filler Pad for Heated Floor Application
Dustin D. Floyd✓ Verified Purchase•July 13, 2023
We tore up some old carpet from our basement and decided to replace it with laminate. Given that we're in a pretty cold climate, we thought we'd add some in-floor heat while we were at it. We settled on some heated pads from Thermosoft. They sell their own filler pads, but it seemed a little expensive. That's when I found this Insulayment. It seems to be the exact same stuff, and it was a perfect match for the thickness of the heated pads we purchased. It was a breeze to cut and install, and saved us a little money in the process.
