I don't label often, but when I do, I have to insert six fresh batteries each time because this thing drains batteries when it's "off".

Purchased this labeler as I will be moving out of my parents house soon and wanted a labeler of my own to keep myself organized in college. My parents had an older brother â„—-Touch labeler and I loved it. I thought that the choice was easy when I purchased my own. Clearly I was wrong. Not only is the display difficult to see at times, it wastes an incredible amount of tape (which is not cheap). It prints an extra inch at the beginning of every label which must be cut off with scissors. So if I print 12 labels, I automatically waste 1 foot of tape because of the stupid extra margin in the beginning. Such a waste. Very disappointed.

I've been wanting to get a label maker, but there are too many choices out there. I did couple researches, and settle up with this one! IT DID COME WITH THE BONUS GREEN TAPE, and also one roll of white tape. The interface is EASY TO USE and self explanatory. It comes with different FONTS (another reason why I chose this instead of the hand held ones), different FRAME designs, SYMBOLS and several LAYOUT design. I haven't read the instruction yet, but you can adjust the margin (Full/Regular, Half, Narrow/Saving tapes and Chain Prints)in the MENU SETTING tab. For the narrow margin, it will allow you to cut the label at the last letter/end of frame(But the front part of the label still have the same. Still trying to figure out!). I also recommend buying the external charger if there's a deal because this machine runs on 6 AAA batteries (which is a lot). This label maker is great for organizing and crafts!

PROS
- Comes with bonus tape (but it's green)
- Different fonts, frame and layout designs
- Easy to use
- Possibly of saving tapes? (still experimenting)

CONS
- Use 6 AAA batteries (can be replace with external cord)
- A little big in size (but it's not suppose to be handheld anyways)

I would have given this 5 stars but you have to be careful with the length of the labels and margins. It does waste a lot of label material if you are not careful. You can set the label length if this is critical and it will justify the font to fit the length. I found the trick is to make the margins minimal and use label length on auto

Nice and small labeler. I thought it came with an AC adapter,but it didn't.
Also it only printed in mirror image,my wife called Brother tech support and
after trying a few things,they said the labeled was defective.They said they
would send us a replacement, but a couple of days later they called and
said they were sending the part that was defective and told us how to fix
it, no problem,easy fix.
