Effective

Keeps my 9 month old contained for now. It's not very sturdy, so may not be as effective/safe once he starts standing and walking. Gate is more trouble than it's worth, we don't even use it. Pictured with two extensions.
sturdy product

So far it seems like a great product, came mostly put together. You just have to connect 2 pieces together which kind of hurt your hands because of the plastic, and to fold it back down to move it will require the same effort. Great product if you want to have flexibility to bring it with you somewhere or move it in your house. I have mine on a rug & it works great, it also comes with floor protectors in case of hard wood, etc. My son can only sit & crawl at the moment, not sure how it will hold up once he is bigger & can walk/stand/lean on it. But for the price it seems well made.
really disappointed in this

Really, really disappointed in this! We have the 8 panel Northstates superyard and love it- but the quality on this set is not the same. The plastic is much flimsier and bends fairly easily. The gate is the absolute WORST! It is cumbersome and not easy to close. On its ease of opening I give it a 3 out of 10 (it's awkward, but it does open) on its ease of closing I give it a -1 out of 10. I don't know how describe it exactly, but it honestly takes like 2 minutes to get the gate and latches aligned so that it will shut. Coupled with the flimsy plastic it's simply not possible to open or close the gate quickly or efficiently. You have to hold the adjoining panels in place while you fumble with the gate because the effort it takes to work the gate will topple the entire play yard if you don't hold it down. Additionally, because the plastic is so flimsy, the play yard can barely stand upright, even when anchored. The difference between this product and our other Northstates play yard is night and day- I do NOT recommend buying this one! We bought this specifically for the gate feature and the gate stone-cold does not function. Period. It's bulky, so it's not worth the effort to return it, but we honestly have no idea what we're going to do with it...because its unusable.
Nice structure, easy to put together

Nice structure, easy to put together, but not the best quality plastic. We set ours up today and within an hour, my 11 month old son managed to find a small sharp piece of plastic from the structure and put it in his mouth. I combed the gate part bc it looks like it came from it based on the color but couldn't find a defect. Then while examining the other parts of the structure, I noticed a small piece of plastic about to break off, so I pulled it off before that baby could potentially find it.

I used this for my pug puppy [Maya] when we first got her. It was her time out space, and where she stayed when we were not home. By the time she was a year old, she could, and did, jump out of it, but absolutely worth it to have a safe space for her when she was a baby.
