To soon not working
DeerHunt55•April 19, 2017
Bought this in September 2016...does not work now , was not used everyday and if used did not use at a long periods of time .Took it apart ...the coupling that connects the motor to the pump shaft is just slid on and is now loose , nothing to secure . Water bypassed the rubber seal into the motor and rusty water was linking around and out .
When it did work the water came out quickly which in why I gave it 2 stars , but not worth the money .

Died in 3 weeks after moderate use.

It worked for just 3 weeks and then it died. I was only able to get through 10 gallons of water through this product (2x 5gallons). I've tried new batteries, plugging in the adapter it came with, purchasing a new adapter with the same wattage/voltage and it just won't work anymore. Not worth it for just working for 3 weeks.
As far as build quality: the plastic is pretty sturdy. It does what as it's advertised to do, it's just unfortunate that the product only worked for 3 weeks and is dead now. It's just outside of the RETURN window so I can't even return it if I wanted to....with this kind of quality; I'm not purchasing another one either, at least not from TeraPump.

First one great, second one not so much.

We bought one for our office that lasted for two years! We really didn't follow that advice about not laying it down on its side so that fact that it lasted that long should have given it 5 stars. After that went out we bought another one and we were very careful with that one. It didn't sound great from the beginning but we thought that was due to design change. That pump lasted 4 months thus drawing down the stars to three. Too bad there isn't another brand available which means I have to get another one because we are all elderly and need one.
Good for 3 yrs

I bought this in May 2012. It has worked fine but suddenly stopped working last night. It is loud is my only complaint along with only lasting 3 yrs, I paid $30 for the pump plus $12 shipping in 2012. Now it is $45 with free Prime shipping which I have. Haven't made up my mind if I'm going to spend $45 on this pump, $40+ every 3 yrs is not great. I have 5 gallon bottles of drinking water delivered once a month and don't buy sport bottles of water, I refill my glass usable bottles from this. This one was pink and worked very well.
Update:
I did purchase a second pump, it lasted just under a month. Water flow was very slow and the top unit rusted even though I never put it upside down. This one was white and never worked great.

Works better with electrical power

Works better with electrical power. But if u don't handle it correctly when changing from one bottle to next , it stops working. Very important not to lay it down when changing to next bottle. Waters inside damaged its. After having it replaced, what I do is place the new water bottle next to empty bottle and just lift up the pump and put it inside the full water bottle than I move the water bottle to the stand.
