RE: Bulldog Vertical" Cell Phone Holster Model BD-849 with Taurus PT111 G2
PRO'S...
"IF" you have been looking at Cell Phone type Holsters for your Taurus PT111 G2 but found the beautiful leather Sneaky Pete too expensive and too nice for everyday use with work clothes and-or blue jeans because it draws attention that you don't want, read on...
My PT111G2 or Millennium Pro fits nice (after a few simple changes to the Bulldog BD-849 holster). So let's get with it, first I cut a piece of thin (2mm) plexiglass (had in my shop) and cut it so that (round the shoulders) it would fit snugly on the inside as a backstop to stiften that part that rests on my waist/thigh area. I also removed the "belt clip" and used the belt slot only, which helped correct the top from tilting outward complaints I've read. I know, I know, for those of you who are thinking "it's a hassle to put on and take off", I call BS as it's a small thing to actually have an inexpensive holster fit and work for your PT111 G2! "IMO", I think that BullDog had used the slot when it was first designed and then added the belt clip after, which inadvertently added about 3/8" more bulk at the top. You can wear this holster right or left with a simple switch of the plastic slide clip and moving a small block of firm sponge-like block.
So, that's it, no other mods needed as my Taurus PT111 G2 is properly positioned and is sleeping in it's Bulldog holster, maybe 30 minutes work. When seated it rests perfectly on the seat (unlike more expensive units) Smooth seamless draw, easy re-holster AND the Best Part is that I didn't have to purchase another pricey holster for my collection.
Con:
Small plastic slide clip falls off easily on fast draw Fix? Firmer clip, longer outside piece to add stability.
Holster tends to tip out with belt clip. Fix? Include a 2mm piece of plexiglass insert for body side, add a buck to cover added expense
At $16.49 and Free Shipping through Amazon, you have a holster that works, doesn't draw unneeded attention, nor does it hold you up! (no pun intended)

Perfect and cheap concealment for very small pistols.

Conceals my Colt Mustang very well. Will probably work well for many small .22, .25, .380 and even some very small 9mm pistols. Works well left-hand or right-hand. Looks so much like a cell phone case as to be invisible.
Bulldog Cases "Vertical" Cell Phone Holster...I bought the VERTICAL one

its great Case but its much bigger than I thought, and a lot bigger than a regular cell phone, its about 61/2" long & about 51/2" wide and about 1 1/2 inches deep, so you can use those measurements for a better idea of its actual size, it does conceal the weapon nicely, I have a Ruger LC9 and it fits most compact 9mm, it was delivered on time and I am very happy with it
I highly recommend it for women, it looks like a bigger type of fanny pack But my husband said no way would he wear this so I am keeping it for myself

Better than a pocket, but....

As mentioned in other posts, the materials are high quality. The larger model fits my Kahr P9 with extended magazine perfectly. However, as also mentioned in other reviews, the belt loop is too low and throws the weight of the gun off of your hip. The metal clip just adds to this problem as it increases the flop by about one half inch. Also, as mentioned by at least one reviewer, I have noticed upon removal that my magazine release has been tripped several times. I think this would be fixed also by raising the belt loop as it would then not be centered right on the release. That, or a small cut out in the plastic where the release button sits.
I only have a 33 inch waste but do not find the case to be too big, it takes some getting used to but is better than having my gun in my pocket, especially with jeans.

Handles the PT111 Millennium G2, 12+1 snugly but not overly so. Got it for my wife for when there's more room than the little space her LCR requires. Removed belt clip and fold cover back behind case then carry in a [dedicated] deep side pocket of her larger purses so there's no printing on soft-sided bags. Just a rectangle. Easy to transfer in plain sight from purse to wherever, so no open carry violation risk where OC is prohibited by law or local social norms. Just fold cover back over to closed while withdrawing. Typical Bulldog construction. Pretty tough.
