I bought these gaiters to keep the ticks from crawling up my pant leg. It is much more comfortable than blousing my socks and cooler. The gaiters also keep the junk out of my shoes when doing yard work.
Here in the northeast sector, Lyme disease is a reality and something to be guarded against. I was a slow to change my ways. Last year I got two ticks on me inside of a week's time.
