Should have waited 1 more month to purchase would have saved 65$ . Harbor freight has them @ 134.99$. But for the price and my DYI projects this exceedes expectations.
Fantastic Product

Alright, forget all those other reviews you read, I'm going to tell you my experience with this saw. I purchased this saw for a recent project and it saw a lot of hard use it first time out. This saw is absolutely massive you will definitely need to clear off your workbench. This saw has a powerful motor and ripped through 2x12s all day like nobody's business. This saw does not come with a 12 inch blade you will need to purchase one if you want to get to cutting right away. The sliding rails glide smoothly and are lockable when you don't need them. I did notice that the laser on my saw is off by 1/16th of an inch but it is adjustable with two screws that hold it in place. The sliding support brackets on both side are adjustable as well. All around the saw feels sturdy and is accurate enough for weekend projects and general purpose cutting. My one and only complaint with this product is the plastic on the adjustment knobs feels cheap and I'm afraid that they may break if you accidentally overtighten something while making adjustments
Good saw now that I found parts for it

Ok, so the biggest complaint about this saw is the lack of replacement parts and terrible customer service when you call to ask for them. Well, after busting the fence on this thing the first time I used it I went on a quest to find parts for it. I succeeded!! I went to my local SEARS to look for similar saws to see what their fence looked like. I found a Wen 70712 12" saw. The fence looked the same, so I took a chance and called Wen (Sears does not carry parts for them). They were friendly and said yes the fence was available. (70712B-033) Total after shipping was like $32. It arrived today and it is EXACTLY the same as the Chicago Electric one, I mean down to the casting stamps on the bottom (1207A1-26(2)) It fit right in and now I have a new fence :-)
Ohh, do yourself a favor and get a good name brand blade, this will probably reduce kickbacks!

Couldn't be happier!

I bought this miter saw from harbor freight. After reading the reviews on here I was worried about the possible problems that others have had with it. So far I have used this on many projects and am completely 100% satisfied with it. It has saved me time and materials with accurate cuts. my most recent projects have included a fishing deck for a jon boat, and crown molding around my living room.
To Those Having "KICKBACK" Issues

To Those Having "KICKBACK" Issues.
Pull the slide toward you BEFORE starting the cut, then PUSH the saw through the board etc...
Of course it is going to grab and break something pulling it.
